Re: Coming Attractions
458 may well happen after IROC's return, or instead of IROC depending on the situation. All depends on my co-host for that series.
Add Beetle Cup to the mix of coming events... but Nationwide will not happen until after TASCAR, if we are still using FM4/360 at that time.

Re: Coming Attractions
After the Trans Am Series wraps up, the following week brings us to a return to the series that started the "Spec" movement here at TORA: IROC.
This time around, we will be racing IROC as it was in its final go-round: 2002 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am. And I will be co-hosting with LMR DarthMario.
As for post-IROC: now that "Spec Racing" has become mainstream, the Friday Night Series will be taking a break from Spec. Hint: something that has not been done, at least since I have been here at TORA.

Re: Coming Attractions
After the current IROC 2002 Series, I will be taking a break from "Spec" in the Friday Night Spec Series. While racing will continue in the current time slot, there will be very little spec about the next series. Here is a little hint

Re: Coming Attractions
Courtesy of Wikipedia
Can-Am started out as a race series for Group 7 sports racers with two races in Canada (Can) and four races in the United States of America (Am). The series was initially sponsored by Johnson Wax. The Series was governed by rules called out under the FIA Group 7 category with unrestricted engine capacity and few other technical restrictions.
The Group 7 category was essentially a Formula Libre for sports cars; the regulations were minimal and permitted unlimited engine sizes (and allowed turbocharging and supercharging), virtually unrestricted aerodynamics, and were as close as any major international racing series ever got to anything goes. As long as the car had two seats and bodywork enclosing the wheels, and met basic safety standards, it was legal
Re: Coming Attractions
It will be Can Am, as in Open Top LMP cars upgraded to the extreme and tuned to the best of one's abilities.
Re: Coming Attractions
i might run in this 'Can-Am' series. i've got an ARX-02a painted up like a Ferrari F1 car (Chaddy knows the one) that is collecting dust, so i might give it a quick wash.

This will be an epic series. Thanks for thinking outside the box Mikey and running an X class series.Flyin Mikey J wrote:It will be Can Am, as in Open Top LMP cars upgraded to the extreme and tuned to the best of one's abilities.

Re: Coming Attractions
After much testing and consideration, for realism's sake, the track list will feature five American tracks that were around way back when the original SCCA Can Am Series was run...
Laguna Seca
Infineon
Road Atlanta
