When to run the event
TCR Suzuka 500km Discussion thread
Welcome, to the SuperGT Suzuka 500km
after a while of testing and maths, it's finally ready to release the details, although note, some cars (the Subaru and 350Z are just getting the final builds done)
here's a brief outline on the rules and how it will work:
88 laps total racing- 44 laps each stint
stint will last around 1 hr 30 minutes for GT300, quicker for GT500 (+/-3 hours total racing)
stint 1= 46 laps (warm up lap and time gathering lap at the end)
stint 2= 45 laps (time gather lap at end)
max 2 drivers per team, one each stint.
CARS- GT500 (incl DTM), GT300 (GT Season 10 sprint series cars incl. Subaru and Nissan)
how it will be calculated: at the end of each stint, everyone will gather at turn 1 having recording their times as they cross the line. these times will be taken down and the time for the pace lap will be taken off. by this, if stint 1 takes 1 hour 36 minutes, and the warm up lap takes 3 and a half minutes, the finishing time for this car will be 1 hour 32 minutes 30 seconds. this is then repeated again for stint two (but minus the warm up lap time) and the two times will be added together with the lowest time across both stints wins, every car will finish if within 4 minutes of the first GT300 car (as seen in the distance ahead metre).
if someone does not finish within the 4 mintes, their time at the end of the current lap will be taken and they will be behind how ever many laps they were at the finish of the stint (unless they finish eg 4 minutes 12 behind the GT300 leader), and this will not be able to be brought back unless every other driver finishes the same number of laps down in the second stint.
will have full rules and guidelines posted soon, as well as car lists and registration and stint line up, possibly tonight, definitely by next friday night.
Race is on the 19th July 2013 8pm BST, 5am AEST (Saturday), 3pm EST, 10am PST
thanks guys,

Re: TCR Suzuka 500km Discussion thread
Hope to gain some interest, especially the guys that ran SuperGT last year as it was great fun, but so far, doesn't look like many are interested,
Was hoping at least General TsO would because he loved SuperGT and wants it to be the community race, but oh well

Re: TCR Suzuka 500km Discussion thread
normal TORA assists will be run, so no ABS/STM or auto gears, besides that, go for it, I'll be running nothing but braking line, unless i can learn the lap enough
Re: TCR Suzuka 500km Discussion thread
yea i use braking line only.

Re: TCR Suzuka 500km Discussion thread
will have registrations done later this week, as well as rules,
depending on how many lobbies there are, there will be a safety car
how it will work (only if there is one lobby): if two or more cars have a collision, they must call out for a safety car
if a safety car is called, then lead car becomes safety car at 60mph, any lapped cars in both classes are allowed to unlap themselves and join at the end of the line.
first lap of the safety car is for anyone who is lapped to unlap themselves, and for the two cars involved to pit, no one else, after the lapped cars and involved cars (have pitted) and caught up, the safety car will run for one more lap to allow anyone else to take their mandatory pit stop if they hadn't already.
NOTE: the cars involved in the accident are the only cars that cannot unlap themselves at that safety car,
once these cars have pitted and caught up, then once the lead car gets to the first start line (just after pit entry), then everyone will accelerate, no calling out 3..2..1..GO, or GO, and green flag racing will continue.

Re: TCR Suzuka 500km Discussion thread
Is it only one lap to make up or all of them if you're multiple laps down?

Re: TCR Suzuka 500km Discussion thread
I certainly hope I can make this event....
I'd love to drive the TORA GTTC II-winning/probable one-nighter winner Mercedes again...but I'd also love to drive the AAR TEC SRT Viper....too many interesting cars to drive in this race!

You could drive your rival in the championship (the Serpent Racing Audi A4 Touring Car).
