Spec Cup Season 3 - Return of the Clios

Hey everyone, hope you enjoyed a bumper season of those BMWs, we had some truly great races...

Now we're back to the Clios! This will be a 7 meeting series each consisting of 2 races each (14 rounds) and will form it's own MSA TORA championship, as 'MSA TORA Clio Cup Season 2', also known as 'MSA TORA Spec Cup Season 3'.

We are currently deciding what model to use and what tunes to use.

Signups will start on Wednesday 28th August 2013 along with more information, and two weeks later the first meeting will commence.

Feel free to use this as a hub for next season's discussion!

I'll be going to the knights of the ROUND table, oh well, another way to make sure that my confidence goes from bad, to just not motivated at all.

Should use the non dlc clio as they are virtually the same car & would allow more people to race.

Because at least the correct wheels power it and the engine is in the right place for a small car.

We should also over power it and give it no handling!  

Wheelwash, did you run the Clio Spec Series at VM? They used that version, and I quite liked it.

Only win I have had at Hockenheim, and I even passed for the lead after my pitstop before anyone else had even pitted.

I really like that version of the Clio.

I certainly did, every round in the end and worth the 1am start time on a Friday morning, i think it was the first time i had seen the V6 version used and it was a cracker of a car, i will admit, im not a huge fan of the FWD Clio's as its been done a thousand times, usually three a week starting on fm.net, always that promise of 'Really Close Racing' and usually by Round Three everyone is bored with it as its extremely dull or a wreck fest!!

I think we stick with old clios but different build

I'm with Wheelwash. The V6 has always been a great car with the right build.

Same car, different build indeed.

Last time some of the races were quite dull, but I want them to be kitted out high B class or low A class if possible. (Also so some of us can run the same liveries )

Having raced low class cars (i.e. STOCK gen1 Miatas) with some real world racing friends on tracks you wouldn't normally expect (i.e. La Sarthe) I wonder just how well Clios can "bumpdraft"?

Having helped JGroves develop the clios I can tell you they don't bump draft amazingly

The Clio V6 does though  

The V6 does it very well :-)

I suggest using the 5 Turbo instead. So much better than the Clios. Renault should bring them back into production!

I think the V6 Clio would be fantastic, although due to the nature of the car I think we should go all out 'yobo'

That means all the aftermarket street aero kit (non adjustable) and a turbocharger to give the 300+ horsepowers.

We could call it Spec Season 3: Yobo racing!
