BMW - Twitch.tv Project
Its been a longtime since I was doing a major media project for TORA, but I am back, and as a starter I will be livestreaming on Twitch.tv (link in signature) tonight for the beginnings of my TORA TCC season.
- - But Biggs, you don't do TCC!!
I know, and that's what will make it more of a journey and a challenge. I'm hoping for many people shouting at me for doing the wrong tuning setup, etc...
- - Ok, so what can we expect from this twitch stream, just driving around lap after lap?
No. Tonights livestream will be the launch of my TORA project starting at 8pm UK time, and then the series will continue every Tuesday at 8pm UK time. The series starts off tonight, FROM SCRATCH! I have chosen the BMW 1M as my car, yet I haven't even bought the car yet! The series will go from buying the car, upgrading the car, painting the car, tuning and testing the car, through the 6 meeting season.
So to watch live click the link in my signature come 8pm and shout some pointers at me as I prepare my car. If you're not able to watch it live, then I will be uploading the unedited streams onto my youtube channel, and hopefully more...
My basic aim is to document the time taken in preparing a car on a week by week basis, and show whats involved behind the scenes of a TORA race team. I hope for everyones support, hopefully will get a few viewers in there and maybe will be looking to do more of this kind of thing if reasonably popular, maybe on a more "official" scale...

Pt 1 - Buying, spec regulating and testing the car
Pt 2 - The paint, and a further few laps testing out

Well, I especilly think that hearing my vocals for an entire series alone might get a little boring, and would love to have guests and helpers join me on this journey, giving me TCC tips, maybe testing together, stuff like that. If you want to be involved, I will be recording vocals from Skype more than likely, but add my Skype and let me know you want to join. My Skype addy is in the links under my avatar.
Re: BMW - Twitch.tv Project
that's a great idea Simon (not the first time you've heard that i bet) will definitely tune in when possible

You're definitely going to get a lot of footage of you understeering till you get the tune right. Great idea I'll probably watch it back on youtube as I'm racing at the time

Re: BMW - Twitch.tv Project
Exactly right Brad, All my videos I will upload to my youtube channel afterwards, so you can catch the latest episode on there. If my calculations are correct, that means Fridays will be up tonight, ep 2 will be Tuesday (4 days time), plus a final preseason video week after, before broadcasting my races live, so all in all thats 9 episodes, maybe 10 depending on closing season celebrations etc.MrMarko1100 wrote:i would watch live but i'll be in work . will it be available to watch afterwards as a recording ?CRA Erebus wrote:sbiggs wrote:If you're not able to watch it live, then I will be uploading the unedited streams onto my youtube channel, and hopefully more...
Duncan that would be stupendous if you would! As said I'll be on skype, and start broadcasting at 8pm.SelectiveRogue wrote:Simon will come and join you on comms if you want?
Episode 1 will basically go through buying the car itself, and upgrading the car, relating to the TORA car build rules, and then doing some initial testing. Depending on how much time this takes, I might do a very basic paint too and open for ideas on the final paint which I will do for next Tuesdays episode. The final tuesday will be more in depth tuning and final setups ready for the first race.
Well the BMW is RWD so it SHOULDN'T understeer. I reckon I could manage it though knowing my tuning skillsTG Haydo wrote:You're definitely going to get a lot of footage of you understeering till you get the tune right. Great idea I'll probably watch it back on youtube as I'm racing at the time

Re: BMW - Twitch.tv Project
Oh of course I haven't. That will be the first thing I do on my livestream. This will be a full on series from the very start to the very end.
Re: BMW - Twitch.tv Project
Looking forward to it mate, I may end up just using the 1M again so if you need a hand let me know!

Re: BMW - Twitch.tv Project
Good first edition. I'll try tune in as much as I can. If not I'll just catch up on YouTube.
Interested to see how you get on with the 1M. I ran it last season, and found it a little difficult to tune from circuit to circuit, but I'll also be the first to admit I'm not a great tuner. I was in C lobby most of the time, and snuck into B lobby twice.
Also, I had no idea people used different builds from race to race. I used the same build for the whole season, and just tried to make up the time with the setup.

Re: BMW - Twitch.tv Project
I watched the stream & you said you wanted some inspiration so here's what I ran in the last series courtesy of S2M Ranger. If you didn't say that then I must be getting delusional & ignore this!

Re: BMW - Twitch.tv Project
Cheers for the support guys. 41 views on youtube is more than I thought to begin with. Thanks for the paint inspiration, I'm sure I'll have something in mind before Tuesday. If not I'll just botch something together
Re: BMW - Twitch.tv Project
Tonights episode "paint" will begin at 7pm tonight rather than 8pm, and we'll see what progress is made with the testing session later in the evening for further TCC coverage, testing and other such.
Re: BMW - Twitch.tv Project
Oh yea, and with tonights episode, are there any passionate painters who wanted to join me briefly for tonights stream on Skype?
