I don't race here enough to know the ins and outs of the Green Hell. Been considering signing up for this, actually.

one of the few tracks on Forza i do not mind logging lap after lap after lap on, as before you know it, a couple hours have elapsed, and you're like, "where's the time go?!"
did the N24 (24-laps) when it was ran some years back, and the 8hr last year. Looking forward to the 24hr. Though, i may still be one of the very few left who would like to see stint lengths stretch to 3hrs (run to 2hr45) for that real "Endurance" feel. it'll also mean fewer stints to organize and manage

I did a 7:17.2 on VM with the Ford when it was at 760 PI with Lowenharts on it, so I'm expecting at least a 16 out of it.

TPR Box did 14's in the Fezza in that race. The rest of us humans where in the 18/19/20's with some of the faster guys 16/17's. The builds were extremely good and there was a nice balance of cars in the field

We chose the Vette for the Ring actually and sacrificed Silverstone. After our disaster of a weekend I am happy with the results. Can't wait for the ring! Why December whyyyyyy

The Vette was suprisingly competitive at Silverstone! I'm expecting an A lobby Chevy shootout... Depending on who I'm driving for, I'll try to sneak in with my Ford. Painted appropriately of course...F4H Chrisupra wrote:We chose the Vette for the Ring actually and sacrificed Silverstone. After our disaster of a weekend I am happy with the results. I did a low 7:17 in the VM race in the '07 Porsche. Only managed a 7:19.581 in qualifying.
F4H Diablo wrote:7:17's and 7:18's will be very good, I'm sure there will be faster times. Box ran a 7:14 in a 458, friggen alien. The VM 2 hrs of Nordschleife used the same car list/specs. We can thank sir koenigsegg for that.

We had the same mentality when choosing cars. In the time it took me to hit a 49.5 with the Vette, I had hit a 48.9 with the GT3 RSR.F4H Chrisupra wrote:We chose the Vette for the Ring actually and sacrificed Silverstone. Re: Nurb Lap Times
i'll third that idea, longer stints, but less which also makes stint organisation easier, and it means less lobbies need to be made which will save A LOT of time! which (in theory) should results in less delayF4H Chrisupra wrote:I'm a fan of this ideaLMR DarthMario wrote:one of the few tracks on Forza i do not mind logging lap after lap after lap on, as before you know it, a couple hours have elapsed, and you're like, "where's the time go?!"

-1 on the 3 hour stint. After my first endurance race at Silverstone, two hours was really long when doing three stints in a day. The last stint was a struggle.

This years Nurburgring 24hour race will be my 1 year anniversary of racing here on TORA
As for Stints, I agree 3 hours would mean less work and easier to organise, however think of it this way...
What if you crash, roll or lag out in you're stint? or like me you cannot go a full 3 hours without breaking you're hands under tension or needing a break to grab a drink or visit the bathroom.
Unlike the F4H or the Sweeney boys, the rest of us are human

Re: Nurb Lap Times
3 hours sounds good on paper, but practically, we already know lag events are an issue (see any endurance race ever run on this site). No need to push the issue by lengthening the stints. And yeah, 2 hour stints are long enough, especially on the Ring!

Re: Nurb Lap Times
I have done a 12 Hours of the Ring, with three hour stints. It was "the cure for insomnia". People were falling asleep left and right. The last stint had a TWO hour delay due to race hosts being asleep. But we won both GT and Production classes, and our Production Class Miata was 2nd place overall.
And a lag out twenty minutes into a three hour stint is a race ender. No making up for 2+ hours lost.

Re: Nurb Lap Times
Ive done x2 24 hour races on vln mod for rfactor in a full blown sim in a pgt 206 gti and clio with 200 cars on track!
Stints lasted 3 hours and after 3 my arms felt like they feel off dur to my wheel useage!
Forza version is not to bad compared to a full blown day night rain assault which other sims gave you!
plus flashy headlights in the rain !

Re: Nurb Lap Times
I dont care what the stint length is, I'd run the full 24 hours myself if I could! Absolutely love this track and could drive it all day and night. I remember doing about 30 hours straight on it back on forza 3... In a public lobby . Thems were the days.
