Starting a YouTube series

Yes, that's right everyone, a YouTube series, had this planned for a long time and I've been saving up for a while to get myself a capture card. Now I have a capture card ( came in the post today) My plan was to record any and all series I take part in with separate videos for each race to make it easier for viewing (who really wants to watch a 2hr long video of some guy driving round the same track). Anyway, id been saving all the replays from TCC S8 and Spec cup S3 in preparation to be recorded when I got my capture card only to realise that Forza only records the first 20mins or so of the race (I knew replays had a cut off but didn't think it was that short a period of time) So now im left with 11 or so replays that are a bit useless which is annoying to say the least. But enough of my ramblings.

I'm still going ahead with the plan, I'll be recording tomorrow evenings SPEC Cup meeting and I'll be carrying on from there.

If anyone is interested in having a watch the first videos will be on my Youtube channel on Thursday 26th at around 5pm and so on. At some point - Still working out a few bits. You can also expect to see videos from TCC, ISCC & the up coming GT Revival If any of those tickle your fancy.

Once I get into a rhythm, videos will be published the day after each meeting takes place. I'll also post them in this thread.

Please do check out my channel and the videos (when they are uploaded of course) and let me know what you guys think. I really appreciate all feedback I get good and bad whether its about the content or my racing abilities.

Sounds good dude, if you need any help editing I have a copy of Sony Vegas Pro I am more than happy to share the bonus code with (up to 4 PC's, used on 2 at home, one shared already).

Also you should consider streaming live, Twitch is a brilliant host for this, and XSplit Broadcaster is an easy to setup and very simple to use program.

I'd love to be able to live stream, I have a Twitch account but I'm let down by my speeds (9Mb down, 0.7Mb up)

I can stream, but I lag the lobbies badly, hence why I prefer doing it in a way where I can record something on the spot, such as most of my videos are all gameplay thrown with an after game voiceover. But if you ever feel like starting a set of things like "Car battles" (Evo vs Impeza), (Viper vs Corvette) etc. Then I'm willing to help out there!

Ah cool, I was gonna get the standard Roxio at first, but decided against it, saved up and got an Elgato HD

Elgatos are good!

PS3 wiring is a pain though, HDCP prevents it being straight to the HDMI.

That's why I bought one :p and tis a slight annoyance but I'll be doing very little (If any) PS3 stuff as I prefer Xbox

Same here, I have been trying GT5 but I keep getting a black and white screen!

Try downloading AmCap and running it in the background whilst recording on your normal program.

Haven't actually tried PS3 yet, still working out some minor settings for the xbox, and also praying my computer is up to the task of edit/rendering.. twice now I've crashed Camtasia whilst rendering and editing is almost impossible with the lag I get

May have a problem here...

My CPU usage is at 87% in that picture.. shortly after it maxed out and damn near crashed my whole laptop

Ouch, how many programmes are you running at the same time? I only have the editor and the menu to open it open but even then I only have 67%. Try running less programmes, opens up the PC more. Also don't forget to follow me back on Twitter @CarbonViper93

Only other programmes I had running was Chrome and raptr, but my laptop is a Sony Vaio, so naturally its full of background programmes I can't close. there's also 121 total processes, half of which are stopped, I have 8GB RAM but it wont use more than 3GB which is confusing a bit

Strange, I have a HP something on Windows 8. I have 2GB of ram and I have no issues with my rendering and editing, sometimes the programme crashes as it is loading!

well that is odd, I'm on windows 7 but mostly likely let down by my processor a video card
