Re: FM5 or FM4??
We will, I think the right thing to do is to push on with FM5 and at least get something running. We will get get racing, we just won't have it as good as we have in the past outside of the on track action. Maybe once the heat dies down on FM5 we will see a bit more racing, I am planning on racing in it, but I am working a lot until the new year so might not be in much of it anyway.Kilroy8 wrote:This is disappointing. I was really hoping that TORA would run some FM5 events, as it stands there is only me & Paul signed up for the Mighty Mini Series. I know their is a multiplayer issue but we should at least try a series.

150,000 XB1 sold in 1st 48 hours alone = just over 0.25% so far!!BG Trash McNish wrote:Yeah that is with 402 votes atm.Kilroy8 wrote:96.3% against 3.7%
Seems clear cut enough.

Re: FM5 or FM4??
Do we really expect Turn 10 to listen to 0.00268% of the community after their recent behaviour? A rushed out game released only to coincide with the release of the Xbox One and is obviously geared towards casual racers?
They stand very little to gain through adding these features in for us, and lose very little by not allocating resources to add features we need to hold our races.
I for one am massively disappointed in Turn 10.

Re: FM5 or FM4??
Personally, I cannot see them making any changes whatsoever that will help the online racing community. Time and cost alone would prevent them from working on the coding required and they are probably already working on FM6 now anyway.
Re: FM5 or FM4??
I think the biggest problem we're facing is that Turn 10 would lose very little if TORA switched platforms from Forza 4/5 to Grand Turismo 6, giving them almost no incentive to do anything. Turn 10 of old may have done something for us 'hardcore forza fans' but it seems that they are, somewhat understandably, more focused on revenue and appealing to a wider audience.
TORA has around 3000 members, and less than 1000 active members at a conservative estimate. Turn 10 have undoubtly sold more than 200,000 copies of Forza 5 by this point (again a conservative estimate) meaning that if all members of TORA were to switch to Grand Turismo 6 and not buy Forza 5, we would affect their revenue by less than 1.5%.
Of course you could argue that TORA members buy more DLC than the average player, but DLC revenue is peanuts compared to actually selling copies of the game.
All this essentially boils down to this:
The only way we'll see these features implemented into Forza 5 is if it they can be implemented for next to nothing, or if Turn 10 decide to give something back to the fans.
Alternatively, we could possibly try and raise money for these features to be implemented, although I'm not really sure if its feasible.

Re: FM5 or FM4??
The issue with GT6 is that not many people have PS3's and getting it for 1 game however good it may seem isn't smart, also no livery editor. Again and again I look to Project Cars, I say stick to X1 and see if anything happens, if not... then bite Turn 10's face off

Re: FM5 or FM4??
Have you ever seen what Project Cars looks like on a PC optimized to console specs?
They have a lot of coding work to do to make a game that someone will buy on the Xbox ONE. The Youtube video I ran across was terrible.

Re: FM5 or FM4??
It's not something that would incur major costs, mainly staffing for coding and testing. Turn 10's previous products had this functionality, so the processes should be known and documented. It's not something cutting edge like AI programming Drivatar using the cloud, or sending specialist crews and expensive equipment across continents to laser scan the Nordschliefe.Demo Marksman wrote:The only way we'll see these features implemented into Forza 5 is if it they can be implemented for next to nothing, or if Turn 10 decide to give something back to the fans.
Small, experienced crew of programmers, skunk works style. They can bash it out in a few weeks.

Re: FM5 or FM4??
From what I understand on some cars yes it is and on others it is not. Already had a couple of people say that the handling on both games is similar for the finished PCars versions. I'm actually hoping they make a quality game, just remains to be seen if they can bring it to the console and it's limitations. I hope they aren't dialing the PC version back to make it fit. It's one of the only reasons I want a gaming PC.
Re: FM5 or FM4??
as a senior member of pcars wmd....all i can say is they are making very good progress on all platforms. It's an exciting time and we hope it delivers.
