Zeta's 2014 Gran Turismo 6 Season (PS3) Gauging Interest thread
Hello,
As the TORA Staff is deciding on a series for GT6, my car club is starting one as well.
I would like to remind everyone that TORA will not be affiliated with my club's season. Sadly, my car club will not be moving over to Forza 5 and most likely leave Forza 4.
This thread is for showing interest from the community. If enough entrants decide to join, we have a season!
Basic Lobby Setup
Our lobby will be based on the P.Q.R format come race day.
- Practice for drivers who want to get a feel for the track and while waiting on entrants to arrive.
- Qualifying will be based on a time limit instead of laps. This is a Polyphony setting, not ours.
- Race is self explanatory.
Room Settings
- Fixed Room host will be turned on in the event the original host disconnects.
- Participation capacity will be placed at 16 players.
- Race Quality & Voice Chat Quality will be set to Standard. This is to alleviate Connection issues. If a problem persists, these settings will be adjusted accordingly to reduce lag.
We've decided to introduce two series codenamed "Super" and "General". Super would be NASCAR, F1, DTM, and so on. General are cars with no liveries and of lower HP. Such as Skylines, Evos, Miatas, and so on.
Setup for the Super series
- Stock.
- No tuning and Nitrous
- Tires can be changed.
Setup for the General series
- Upgrades allowed.
- Tuning allowed.
- No Nitrous.
- Tires can be changed.
Course Settings
This will vary depending on the Circuit and what options are available to us. Such options include:
- Course
- Weather Percentage
- Time of day/night the race starts
- How many times day/night will progress
- Number of laps
- The number of times the weather will change
- The percentage of water on the track at the start of the race.
Qualifier Settings
- Everyone will race together.
- Time limit will vary based on Track length. There is no setting for laps.
Race Settings
Depending on the Track, some options may not be allowed.
- Hold races automatically will be set to disabled.
- Start type will vary based on the event that's taking place.
- Grid order will be either Fastest first or Slowest first depending upon the number of rounds per race.
- Boost is turned off.
- Penalty will be either Weak or Strong. This is in discussion.
- Tire wear/Fuel Consumption will be either Normal or Fast depending upon the event that's being held.
- Grip Reduction will be set to Low instead of Real.
- Forced pit stops will be enabled depending upon the event and number of laps
- Required Tire Type Change will be enabled depending upon the event that's being held.
- Race Finish Delay will be 180 seconds.
- Visible Damage will be turned on.
- Mechanical Damage will be set to either Light or Heavy. This is in Discussion.
- Slipstream strength will be set to Real.
Car Selection Method
- This will be set to the player's garage as the one-make option has a very limited selection in cars.
Car Filters
Depending on the event taking place, this setting will be either used or not used. Settings include either one or all of the above:
- Maker
- Category
- *Performance
Performance Filter
Depending on the event, these settings may take effect:
- PP Limit
- Max Power Limit
- Minimum weight Limit
- Drivetrain Limit
- Tire Limit
- Nitrous either turned on or off depending on the event.
- Vehicle Tuning either turned on or off depending on the event.
Limit Driving options
- Skid Recovery Force will be optional
- Active Steering will be optional
- ASM will be disabled
- Driving line will be disabled
- Traction control will be optional
- ABS will be disabled
FAQ
What is the starting and ending Month for your season?
- I'm looking at Late January for start, and September for end. This can change as the season progresses.
Why the PS3 version instead of the PS4?
- Many apologies on this end. My car club has the game for PS3 only and will not be able to get a PS4 for some time. They come first.
How many races per event are you aiming for, and how many laps?
- No more than 5 races. Laps wise, I am not sure. I can say time wise around 20 minutes max for regular events.
Do you have Endurance races planned?
- Indeed I do. No longer than 1 - 2 hours. Those will be TBA.
What day/s of the week are you considering?
- For the folks in Europe and Australia, Sundays. For the Americans, this is TBA.
What series do you have planned? Can I help out on Suggestions?
I can think of a few I already have in mind!
- Red Bull x2014 Junior, Nascar, Formula 1, DTM, and Racing Karts.
By all means, I am always looking to see what the community wants if it's doable.
How do I join events?
Aside from signing up in a thread I make, entrants must search for my PSN name killrodx in the Online lobby search engine as there is no invite friends option. Oh yes, make sure to friend killrodx to simplify the search!
Can I offer to help out and offer advice?
Yes. I am open to feedback
Will there be Media related to your events?
Yes. Either in Photos, videos and if possible, live stream.
Are there prizes?
Most likely a racing trophy at the end of the season.

id love to mate, but unfortunately, i don't have the $405 required to buy GT6, wheel and PS3 as of yet

It's fine Erebus, I'll be doing multiplayer test sessions this week to see what would be appropriate for each event.

I am happy to announce our first upcoming event will be the GT300 series. Information will be posted on January 17th in the Community Game night subforum.
