Re: Gran Turismo 6
Not really surprised they are pushing another one out on the PS3 before it's successor comes along.
From the amount of development time, and associated cost, GT5 took I suspect this will be more of an evolution rather than revolution for the series.
What I think this does mean is that whenever Forza Motorsport 5 comes out (assuming it will be on the next-gen consoles), it should have the market place pretty much to it's own for a while. Obviously Sony aren't too worried about this as it all but repeats what happened early on in the life cycle of this generation's consoles.
That said, the trailer looks fantastic.

Re: Gran Turismo 6
GT5.5
Looks alright, then again, so did GT5. And we know how that turned out.
Seems to be more of a focus on European cars there, perhaps there will be a bit of a balance between them and the 500 variants of your nan's Nissan Micra.
Graphics look a bit better I suppose, a bit more polished off. I always thought GT5 was a bit bland, both in colour and sound.

Re: Gran Turismo 6
Have only read a few bits about it, but sounds promising. Before anyone complains that it's too near the PS4, GT4 was regarded as the best GT game and it was the second PS2 version of the game and was released near the PS3 launch. GT6 might make up for GT5s shortfalls, and could be pretty good. New physics, new graphics, more tracks, fully customizable cars and all cars with proper graphics. I'm looking forward to it, but still will be interested to hear what the PS4s backwards compatibly will be now that some first party games are being released after the PS4 launch.

Re: Gran Turismo 6
I think this'll be the complete PS3 GT game, then they will spend another few years working on the first PS4 version. I'm actually kinda looking forward to it, even although I was severely disappointed in GT5.
Re: Gran Turismo 6
Really after GT5, i know I will have to buy a new ps3 as well as sold my when I got rid of GT5 but shall see not going to say a bad word until I try
Re: Gran Turismo 6
If they improve the course creator and add a Livery creator, Forza is in deep doo-doo as it will have everything FM4 has and none of the quirks T10 have neglected to fix over multiple iterations of the game.
That said, I have to say I'm a bit surprised Kaz has agreed to releasing this new iteration of the game as a sequel (as opposed to a "prologue" type refresh or preview like GT5:P was.
All of this talk of GT has reminded me how much easier running events on GT5 was, as opposed to the buggy and quite constrained multiplayer schematic FM4 uses. The primary difference I see between GT and FM is the responsiveness of the developer to fix what is wrong with their releases (now that it is possible). T10 seems to take its users for granted while PD seems to have this feeling that they owe their users something for taking so long to release gt5.

Re: Gran Turismo 6
Silverstone... looks... amazing...
As Posi said, Forza is in deep poo if it has all of these things. And track creator? I'm pretty sure everyone would ditch that in return for classic GT tracks, and current F1 tracks (Spa, Monza, Montreal at a push etc), just MORE TRACKS!!!

Re: Gran Turismo 6
I play GT5 every now and then, and it's track selection is refreshing.
Turn 10 just don't get it. More tracks >>>>>> more cars. Hell, even Forza 2 had track packs! Remember the excitement of doing laps around Elkhart Lake for the first time?

Re: Gran Turismo 6
Ahh Forza 4 infamous track DLC, in reality just a soccer field you used once or twice. In fact, I hope future games completely scrap any TopGear related content. Its space can be better used on other things.
Anyhow this type of thing happens everytime a big franchise announce its newest game. It gets judged, slated and immediately dismissed before we've hardly heard anything about it.

And so the trend continues
Forza 3 < GT5 < Forza 4 < GT6 < Forza 5?

I like the Top Gear track, it's completely useless but it's a nice gimmick. I'd rather they ditched the tire walls and make the whole track "free roam"
Top Gear is the leading car magazine/show in the world, so it's understandable if a developer wants some sort of Top Gear content or partnership

If it wasn't for that bloody crossover, I'd love to do some airfield racing...

Re: Gran Turismo 6
Top Gear is just used as a marketing tool. Would you rather have 3 new tracks or all the Top Gear content?
I find it incredibly boring. No doubt it could be improved a lot without the irritating tyre walls. Just 'dirty' the lap if you go off the white lines.
I anticipate that Project C.A.R.S should rather decimate GT6/7 & Forza 5.

^^ QFT
Any day. Notice the lack of presence in TORA for Top Gear tracks. It's great if you haven't raced on it before (or you're setting up challenges for charity ), but when it comes to actual value I hate it. Especially the fact that it's flat and can't see the corners.

Players can create their own personalised custom car in the game.

I think once again this is aimed more at the actual car modding rather than liveries. If there is one I am unsure if it would be as advanced as T10's example.
Though, it would be great if the Forza version could move on a little bit now. (Painting carbon, window decals etc)
