Re: Gran Turismo 6
Aside from the mission mode, coffee mode, and other non-racing needs a star to open more events races, I'm having a ball with the game.
Go kart tournament anyone?

Re: Gran Turismo 6
The game is beast, I personally find it better than Forza 5 for many reasons, I won't state the reasons as they are personal ones, but there is just something about it that pulls me away from FM5 as a whole. Not the features and that but the game as a game.
Re: Gran Turismo 6
I would love to get this game, but that would be a waste of a PS3.

They are a couple, but not the only ones I have.
They are, however, 2 of the "Brand New" cars in GT6.

This is interesting...

PS3 release, subpar audio, aging progression system all seem to be catching up with the otherwise market leader.

Re: Gran Turismo 6
It is being discussed but in the meantime community members are more than welcome to set up events here.
Re: Gran Turismo 6
I do have a few ideas for the ps3 version next year if people are interested.

I don't play it, the online of PS3 was horrible and GT to me feels like I am moving the track to run under a stationary car which is actually how it's made, they just don't do a good job of hiding it. Nevertheless it is still disappointing. Games need benchmarks and as the benchmark falls competition falters and that is generally bad for all of us.
Re: Gran Turismo 6
GT6 has some noticable improvements in car handling. I can't tell what exactly they did with driving physics or tire model, but it feels a lot better when driving with my Fanatec GT2 (I don't bother to play with controller as the PS3 controller is just rubbish). My two major pain points with GT6 are framerate and crappy car sounds. The tracks look great (and that's on last gen console) and the day/night cycle is awesome.
I agree online experience never was great on PS3. But the online lobby settings in GT6 is something where T10 should have a look to: you can setup quali+race mode, use different levels of tire wear, require pit stop and even tire compound change, etc ... a lot of useful options for online racing leagues.

I know, they execute this feature almost perfectlytsaFooT wrote: But the online lobby settings in GT6 is something where T10 should have a look to: you can setup quali+race mode, use different levels of tire wear, require pit stop and even tire compound change, etc ... a lot of useful options for online racing leagues.

Re: Gran Turismo 6
Richy pointed out this to me last night.
Compared to Forza 5 GT6 feels to arcadey
Also the race around brands hatch in the clio feels like the car is on rails not tarmac.

Re: Gran Turismo 6
Despite all its flaws I still think its a small improvement over 5. They need to implant custom paint jobs and improved handling and car sounds. But i would be interested in any events Tora would run

Re: Gran Turismo 6
GT will always be GT.... Kawazaki Tamagotchi is just too stubborn
The thing that has always intrigued me is the car and track selection. Even though a 1/4 of the 1200 cars are various anal Japanese models, there are some interesting cars in the mix that Forza seems to look over.
The circuits, too. Arguably the best selection of any major racing game, albeit a lack of US tracks.

Also find car choice weird take opel and vauxhall they both have same cars to chose from in gt yet there counted as different cars as part of the 1200. And does anybody else think the cockpits are far to dark?

Re: Gran Turismo 6
I've only had a quick shot with the PS3 controller and not my wheel, but I found the game to feel very arcadey especially compared to Forza 5 - which doesn't surprise me as they are different generations. Once I get the wheel set up I'll be able to tell what it really feels like.

That will be the simple interior views for the standard cars, Premium cars have a full and proper interior to see.
Re: Gran Turismo 6
But what does ''arcadey'' actually mean?
This word gets thrown around all over the place by many.

Re: Gran Turismo 6
Really grippy, which isn't what I would have normally said about GT. FM5 really does give you a good sense of driving a car at high speed and on the edge of grip at times, where as the first race in a Clio - which I have - felt really...fake. As I said I was using the controller and GT shines with a wheel. Just my opinion anyway, will need to drive more than FWD cars to understand it better as well.

I hated the Permium/Standard car divide on GT5. It's not worth having over 1000 cars, if a lot of them are standard. It sounds like cockpit view is available for every car in GT6, but in GT5, I could only use the premium cars because I can't drive as fast as I can in cockpit view.
