Forza 5 certainly has something to really fight against, not to mention GT6 is coming out for the PS3, which saves the money on the PS4 for another date. As for Forza 5, you need the Xbox One, which is going to be a big blow on the wallet!

Eh... New course maker... Apparently you'll have somewhere between 50 and 100 square km to 'freely' lay your course.

The first PlayStation 4 version of Gran Turismo will be finished in ‘a year or two’, according to series overlord Kazunori Yamauchi.

At the moment the last big name release of 2013 is Gran Turismo 6, on December 6. The only problem for Sony is that it’s a PlayStation 3-only game, and one that looks significantly better than many other next gen games.

Previously there had been some rumours that the game would be ported to the PlayStation 4, but a new interview with Yamauchi on website Polygon suggests the current plan is for another numbered sequel instead.

‘The PlayStation 4 game which we’ll likely call GT7 will be done in about a year or two, I think, and I think the community aspect’s going to be vital there as well,’ said Polyphony Digital boss Kazunori Yamauchi.

However, he admits that the new game will use much of the same physics technology as Gran Turismo 6, and in fact that the console the game runs on is now not as important as it used to be – since the new game features a major focus on social interaction and an integrated smartphone app.

‘The PlayStation 4′s large memory size is a unique trait,’ said Yamauchi, ‘but in terms of CPU performance, the PS3′s Cell chip, while difficult to handle, is really capable. They both have different advantages. Besides, I think the online community aspect, one of the most fun parts of GT, doesn’t have anything to do with the platform.‘

The only exclusive driving game being released for the PlayStation 4 this year is Driveclub from MotorStorm makers Evolution Studios. The Xbox One meanwhile, has Gran Turismo arch rival Forza Motorsport 5 available at launch.

Sounds like it's going to be GT5 all over again...

Once again, a trailer showing that Polyphony just 'get it'.  Gran Turismo 6 will include a locale (or multiple locales?) on Earth's closest celestial neighbour, the Moon.



Now, if you know your Apollo history, you'll know that the LRV was used on Apollo 15 through 17, at Hadley Rille in the Apennine Mountains, the Descartes Mountains, and the Taurus Littrow Valley.  With Polyphony being Polyphony, I wouldn't be surprised if they provide all three ''circuits''

The Lunar Roving Vehicle LEV-001 is confirmed in the official car list as a drivable car also this is pretty cool

GT has had a history or putting weird things in their games, I'm not surprised.

I remember some 2022 concept car on GT4 which had reverse binary code on the window that took you to the designer's website They also had the world's first car , the Daimler, on there, and that weird Auto Union speedring thing.

Polyphony are a bit weird.

The Nike Concept car that was modeled on a shoe? Forza had the Warthog but it wasn't drivable

The whole trailer has themes of design and engineering.  Putting that in the game is a pretty cool tribute to what we can do with a car.  The LRV is the only car ever used for off-world exploration, and that's a pretty big deal.

If it's a separate mode where you can actually carry out tasks on the moon with it, it might be quite interesting.

New trailers look [Censored] amazing, looks like my plans to retire my PS3 at the end of the month have been delayed for a bit...

Forza 5 is going to have its work cut out to beat this... Good luck on both games though, I think I know which one I'm going for currently!
