The Xbox One Saga

Well guys, the saga regarding the Xbone gets better and better.

Games released half finished, massive complaints raised against the release day supply or lack of and now my xbone has turned into a smoke machine.

With Microsoft offering replacement machine within five working days quite frankly is shocking as well may be my Xbone if I go near it.

WTF, here's an idea Microsoft, how about send me a voucher for a replacement so that I can go and straight swap it in any merchant or retailer right now, I paid £429.00 plus £70 for a VIP forza 5 with the vip status being virtually worthless as is your over emphisised day one item.

Gonna miss the final of the mighty minis and being in second place championship wise really fooks me off. its a blown championship for me courtesy of Microsoft.

I had not heard that the Xbones had begun to fail......that's shocking mate...I mean WTF,,,,u think after the RROD rubbish with the 360 they would have maybe taken more time with the new platform to make it a better piece of kit,,,but sadly this seems not to be the case.  Mad

Hope you push for your cash back man....this type of thing is just not good enough.

My PS4 broke on day one after I set it up. Had to get it replaced, which was the same sort of time scale. Haven't had any issues with the Xbone so hopefully yours was a one off tubbi, although I still have my reservations about the rather light and flimsy feeling controller.

Post by Ax4x Kane Sun 19 Jan 2014 - 17:55

There is nothing wrong with the console. Ok, so Tubbi's went kaput, but it isn't outside the realms of reality for things to break. My Windows Phone broke & had to be sent to the Nokia Repair shop. Its very likely that these are just unfortunate anomalies, seems that the Xbox One is getting a bad rep because of unfinished games. Don't worry, as the developers understand the console more they will be able to get so much more out of it. We just need to have a bit of patience.

Oh ill be patient, waiting five days for a replacement console that is replacing my console who's age is almost exactly two months.
I've worked out that at this rate for every 4 years of playing this xbox I will effectively be without one for a year.
Well worth £500 I say.
Oh and a note to tora staff.....if this is what had become xbox then maybe the series will all have to be alot shorter!

Haven't had an issue with my console and really enjoying the games I have.

Sure Forza 5 has its issues, But I'm addicted to the online. Cars look and feel amazing! Smile

Also enjoyed the Campaign on RYSE, Although I'm glad I borrowed it, Rather then bought it.

Fifa is just Fifa lol. Smile

Post by PLOW tubbi Mon 20 Jan 2014 - 0:28

The Saga continues,
I was presented with two options when I ran microsoft earlier today.

1. have my console repaired taking a minimum of 14 days but not more than 30.
2. agree to a replacement unit, probably done 700 hours worth of work already but it lessens the down time to 3-5 working days.

I chose option 2, then regretted it once it had gone through.
apparently guys have been claiming broken units then keeping both consoles, so now they charge your online credit card with a new unit price until the broken unit is returned to them.

This doesn't sound like to much of a problem, until i checked my credit card status, it's been charged twice!

I can honestly say, I am a company owner, if I supplied this kind of performance to my clients my company would go bust in a week.

WTFu3k do they think they are doing, if I wasn't eagerly anticipating CARS I'd sell my Xbone, stick with the old one which by the way fired up first time even though it accidentally got put into my very leaky shed, and wait for the new and improved version which is rumoured to be coming soon xbox, I suppose this is a slimline version as well eh.

Jeez. Sorry to hear of your issues.
What actually happened with it? I do like ine and am pleased with it for the most part. There's some clear thing missing. I'm still annoyed that it doesn't (yet) support optical home cinema (because someone badly timed the software update). The lack of BBC iPlayer ans Sky is a bugbear too. Though fair enough, that's more to do with 3rd party support than anything else.
Still, when the predecessor has all these things you;d kind of hope the contracts etc to have these apps in place would eb done for launch. It's been 7 oor so years since the last gen console launch and I'm sure I had the same hollow feeling from time to time as now. But hey ho. here's to the next 7 years Razz

As for the video....I think I'm going to have nightmare's for a long, long time!!  Very Happy

A call going out to anyone in the watford area or nearby.

I need to check my Xbone with another supply to check if it works.
If I can do this they will exchange the supply for new on warranty, the only other way is to send it to them, it goes to.....get this the US for testing, when proven faulty they provide a new one, time scale 40 days!.
I also need to check the original Xbone for operation as to keep it and all my game saves.

Anyone out there?

Tubbi you could check it on mine but im all the way over in east london,

I know its too late for the mini's but you are still welcome to come and test it wednesday if you like so you can establish if the power supply works.

Also did you ask if your local cex might test it for you or anything? Offer the guys a drink for the favour?

Amazing  Mad ... luck is not on your side. I feel for you mate. I´ve had my share of problems with Microsoft. Bought a white 360 on release day. RROD 1 year later. Sold it (after being repaired) to a friend and bought an Elite. The Elite went RROD.... In the meantime my friend told me he also had RROD (again). Two times in one console  Laughing
Apparently there were some Microsoft Racing Wheels burning so I also had to send my wheel to Germany for a month.
These things happen though! I had an OG Xbox (still have it) and I´ve never had any issue. It still works.
(sorry for the relief)

Regarding your problem, you could try with another power cord but according to this - http://www.digitaltrends.com/gaming/xbox-one-problems-solutions/  (Malfunction: Xbox One won’t power on) - yours should be working as its lights are working.

Honestly, I can´t help you much more as I have no ideia what the problem is  Crying or Very sad

I'd have said take the XB1 and power supply to your local Game store and ask them to power up your XB1 from one of their power supply's to see what happens. You may not have bought it from Game but I took a 360 that had failed to my local Game store and asked them to do the same and once failure had been proven I said "I'd come back with the receipt when I found it". I got my answer though, rang MS and got a replacement box.

turn on xbox360 and its slick compared to the One, and as for the name one. Maybe Xbox second's would be more of a fitting name.

Can you beleive it!

I have just received my new power supply for my Xbone and guess what......it doesnt work.

WTF WTF I am so seriously disappointed, its got the point where I just want to quit xbox, quit tora, quit working and cook a squirrel on the side of the road throwing poo at everyone driving past.

I only have one thing that I enjoy and that's racing with you guys.

Why the hell should they be able to treat such a loyal customer in such a way it leaves me totally aghast with frustration.

Surely there's an issue with your Xbox then?

I know when mine randomly died just before Christmas they were really quick to replace it (Received the new console within 2 days of putting in a service report and just sent the broken one back with the prepaid postage label). I'd suggest doing that.
