Re: TUDOR Championship coming this Fall
We talked about doing a grandam championship many times over the last few years and I have always said that the Nissam R390 race car is the most DP looking car. It's got similar characteristics to the DP as well compared to the road going Mosler.
Re: TUDOR Championship coming this Fall
the trouble is though, the current cars the Nissan wont stand a chance

GT1 Mclaren thing? Looks like a DP ish? I dare you though to balance them with LMP2 cars.

Re: TUDOR Championship coming this Fall
I think the GTS class is somewhat similar to the DPs in general. Maxing the GTS cars out and handicapping the P2 cars may make them equal.

Re: TUDOR Championship coming this Fall
Surely to make it realistic you've just got to make the Nissan 2-3 seconds a lap quicker than all of the P2's

Re: TUDOR Championship coming this Fall
Mid engined GT1 cars (Porsche 911 GT1, Nissan R390, Saleen S7, Maclaren BMW) would be easier to balance with P2 cars, are "race ready" and have the correct engine/suspension/tires and aero bits.
Re: TUDOR Championship coming this Fall
I've got the r390 and the mosler pretty close around Indy GP mosler has the speed but only a little while the r390 has the cornering r390 is only .300 off of the moslers Time

i still have the gtd and gtlm to put into a lobby but I finished a lobby setting which I think I goodBandit1097 wrote:I think the GTS class is somewhat similar to the DPs in general. Maxing the GTS cars out and handicapping the P2 cars may make them equal.
Re: TUDOR Championship coming this Fall
so I've been wanting to do this for a while and after numerous testing spouts here's what I got
Mosler, R390 and Ultima built to R2 along with the Saleen work really well
Porsche you'd have to handicap because it is so fast
but if you could handicap the P2 cars to get down to the same speed and handling that would be cool!

Re: TUDOR Championship coming this Fall
I've done some testing and getting the P2 cars down to the level of the mosler and the r390 and Saleen is plausible but having the P2 cars grip handicaps past 10% makes the car seem like its on slicks when it's wet if you've played f1 then you know how that's feels il be honest I'm more worried with this then in the GTLM and GTD Classes because I think I got a lobby setting that works really good with it so I've talked and worked with Alex p today and we've ran the Mazda bo9 at PI970 and the ARX-01b PI990 and they are running very close times thing that's two people which isn't bad but the more people the better so there are couple of ideas for the DP I have in mind so if anybody is willing to help if appreciate it a lot

true true but P2 with grip handicap is not fun il tell you thatATP Maynard wrote:Surely to make it realistic you've just got to make the Nissan 2-3 seconds a lap quicker than all of the P2's

Re: TUDOR Championship coming this Fall
the main thing is do I run those cars with P2s which is very hard to put together because of how bad the p2s handle with a grip handicap is crazyRichy59 wrote:We talked about doing a grandam championship many times over the last few years and I have always said that the Nissam R390 race car is the most DP looking car. Re: TUDOR Championship coming this Fall
I've just had a brainwave if there are plans for a United sportscar series. But as I'm still in work and nowhere near a computer until midnight (two hours away)I'll just say this... the grand-am side of things wanted to build cars similar to the ones that will be used in the newest version of both super gt and the dtm...

Problem with the P2 PIs... there is no way anything remotely close to a DP would get near that high. Try upgrading the GT1 cars (R390/Saleen S7R/Porsche GT1/Maclaren BMW) as high as you can get them, then see how close to P2 cars they end up. Chances are you'd have to restrict stock P2s 5-15% power just to be in the ballpark... maybe even add drag slicks to the P2s, just to balance them out to fully upgraded GT1 level.
Re: TUDOR Championship coming this Fall
We've tried something much different which has been very successful.
LMP2 -
Acura ARX01b (995PI)
Honda Lola (998PI)
Mazda Lola (998PI)
DP -
Bentley Speed 8 (998PI)
Toyota GT-One (998PI)
P2's handle better and the "DP's" have more power. But over a season, they're very equal.

They don't look very close but it does resemble the DP and P2 because DP have the speed but the P2s have the braking and handling

Great looking at Sunday at 8:00 PM GMT after the Euro GT Season Finishes
Re: TUDOR Championship coming this Fall
If you didnt know already, Sundays and Tuesdays are official TORA days, so that would be "no can do" immediately.

It could be your right bandit but at the moment it is not so I can understand why he said that
