Your correct, I remade them last night and you get get a bit extra bhp by sacrificing some weight, grip or adjustability - especially in the gearing. I had intended to make the Viper and Corvette run with standard engine outputs, but I never specified that so can't go back on it. As long as they fit within the Group 2 restrictions they will still work against the other cars.
Re: MSA TORA GT Season 11 - General Discussion
it may just be that im thick but why its there different PI's? can someone explain why that is, i would have thought all cars would be set to same PI, having tested the higher PI cars they have a big speed advantage on the F1 tracks?

Re: MSA TORA GT Season 11 - General Discussion
Forza's PI is rarely accurate in terms of making all cars equal and balanced. The slight variances between the cars. Some cars might pull away quicker or have a higher top speed, some may turn in quicker, or be prone to oversteer, etc etc.
If all the cars had the same PI, the best car there (ie one with a high top speed, no oversteer, good grip etc) would dominate over the others without these positive traits.

I have to laugh at your Signatures Stan, the one you have now is particularly good!

Re: MSA TORA GT Season 11 - General Discussion
The cars were testing over a variety of tracks - low speed/high downforce/high speed/ low downforce/medium speed/medium downforce - and as an overall the list the cars were determined to fit these PIs. The Power and Weight bands are the most important, otherwise we would have cars that were dominant and leaderboard style racers and we would only see one type of car possibly enter. These cars are a bit all over the place on paper and on pure stats, but they all race well together. We did some testing last night and the cars are close, with the usual suspects up the front and tuning starting to get worked on.
This is our first FM5 series featuring cars that are all different and build in a variety of ways. We are confident the cars will be close and the racing will be good, but of course we may have missed something and we may see a standout car or two throughout the season.

Re: MSA TORA GT Season 11 - General Discussion
From last night, I thought cars were all well balanced, it seemed nobody had massive advantages anywhere to be honest, I didn't feel like I was a sitting duck, and didn't feel like I was catching anybody up easily either!
Think you guys did a great job balancing the cars, time will tell of course, but it feels like you have it right. you will always get people asking for more on their chosen car, but thats reflective of every series be it virtual or real life motorsport.
shaping up to be good season.

I am confused about the rules. Can individuals participate as privateers or do they have to be part of a team? Can someone clarify?

Individuals can participate as a solo team effort if they wish too.

Re: MSA TORA GT Season 11 - General Discussion
Teams can consist of up to three drivers, so if there is only one driver then it is still considered a Team. There isn't a Privateer Championship this Season like there has been in the past, all individual drivers are just part of the overall Championship.
Re: MSA TORA GT Season 11 - General Discussion
Ok, thanks guys.
Final question is, I have built up a 570 with the mandatory parts and it's sitting at A680, the ceiling for it's group is S710. So are other things allowed to get it up to that ceiling, such as tire width or race tranny, or no?

Yes...
All parts are allowed so long as;
- You have the mandatory parts fitted
- It fits in the power and weight limits
- It is lower than or equal to the the max PI

Re: MSA TORA GT Season 11 - General Discussion
Well I am absolutely garbage at tuning. I understand what each component's function is and how it relates to handling... but I don't know which one(s) to adjust or by how much to get the result I want. It's never just ONE thing. If the car is oversteering, it can be springs, or ARB, or aero... I just do not understand how to figure out what to adjust to get what you want from the car. I've tried the ForzaTune5 app and I've read multiple guides, as well as a lot of YouTube videos, but it looks like I am destined to have badly tuned cars or leech off of someone's tunes.
Trying to make the 458 Italia usable for me and it's got a loooong way to go. I feel like it doesn't turn *enough* yet at the same time it's an incredibly fine line between that and just oversteering and breaking traction. I feel like this car should be capable of more lateral g's than I'm restricted to currently. Also, almost every turn as soon as I let off the clutch the car wants to spin out of control. So I tried keeping it a gear higher than it should be thinking it's because the gears on this car are super short, and it still does it quite frequently, I can't figure it out. Tried raising the diff decel thinking it may be some slight throttle-lift causing it, still happening though. I am driving like I do with other cars and I don't have this issue with any of them except the 458.
Here is what I have going on (combination of FT5 app and my own tinkering):
PSI F+R: 28
Camber: -1.5, -2.3
Toe: 0, -0.2
Caster: 6.7
ARB: 22.81, 20.21
Springs: 661.8, 677.1
Height: 4.8, 4.0
Rebound: 6.1, 8.4
Bump: 5.1, 5.2
Aero: 227, 200
Brake: 48%, 100%
Diff: 8%, 70%
Mostly that is what the FT5 app gave me, I put full downforce trying to get more G's without flying off the track... it's not working lol. Anyone care to point out where I am going wrong?

Re: MSA TORA GT Season 11 - General Discussion
^I have that same issue. I've read up on each part and how 'in theory' I should be able to iron out the issues with the tune, but it either doesn't work or creates a whole new problem. I've resorted to using a default tune, I may fiddle with the aero depending on track, but that's about it. Also in the 458. So if there's any generous tuners out there...

I have to drive way more gingerly with the 458 than I want to or feel that I should.

Re: MSA TORA GT Season 11 - General Discussion
458 is a beast to have tuned so its fast and stable very hard, its qick when lose but very hard to drive
Re: MSA TORA GT Season 11 - General Discussion
Reduce tyre pressures to 25.5 front and back, I wouldn't compare a V8 Supercar with a 458, one is a road car the other is a purpose build race car with very different balance as one is front engined the other is mid engined

I'll try that Myles. The 458 is not just a road car, give Ferrari a little more credit than that I know they are different platforms, I think you misunderstood me, forget I said anything about the Holden, it's besides the point. I just want to be able to push the 458 more than I can right now.
