I know I can't be reading it right if AAR finished 42nd while the 40th place CRA team (directly below on LT) finished 40 with less distance.
So are the official, finishing positions on LT the numbers on the very first column?

Well after a great weekend this whole results organizing has ruined it. Quite funny actually how most of the A lobby guys are sticking together and finding ways to keep B and especially C lobby guys from competing against them.
I mean in C lobby there would have been a lot of guys who haven't raced enough so are trusting there host to tell them what's happening, and then comes the excuse that the rules have been up for a while. I'm sorry but i've hosted lobbies where ive informed the drivers of last minute changes and that's exactly how the C lobby guys could have seen this 2 stop thing, as a last minute rule change. So surely the TORA officials should take the responsibility and have the results altered to compensate for an error on TORA's part not the drivers.

Re: MSA TORA 12 Hours of Sebring 2014 Race Day Thread
The 2 stop rule was never a case in the TEC series it the mandatory pit stop was brought cause one car in GTE couldnt make the distance so it was introduced and we have not had a 2 stop rule in TEC
ISCC yes because that is a different run series
so where the 2 stop has come from beats me
Heres a little piece taken from the rules and regulations to clear the matter
Race Rules
The race will be split up into six stints that will last two hours. Each stint will be competed by one driver from each team, so you will not be racing on track with your team mates during the event. Driver changes take place when the stint is over at the 2 Hour mark, where we will then go back into the lobby and the drivers and lobby hosts will change over. At this point the host will enter the distances covered by the drivers into the database which will be combined for the final results at the end of the race. The race will be scored on "distance driven" where bigger is better. Driver must stop where they are on track at the end of each stint for their distance to be recorded by the Lobby Host. To accommodate for the stint changes a 15 minute turnaround will be applied for 'a pit stop with driver change simulation' so in reality the stints only last 1 Hour 45 Minutes. The final stint will be a similar to the previous stints, however the timer will be extended to the full two hours. When 2 hours is reached all drivers will stop where they are on track and give their covered distance to the Lobby Host. Once this is recorded the field will then cruise round to the start line to finish the lap they are on - this is only for TV purposes and not how the race will be scored.
There will be one mandatory pit stop per session.
The first stint will start under a Rolling Start following standard TORA procedures. The lead car will take the grid around at 80mph Maximum and will then slow down to 60mph for the last section of track where the cars will line up 2x2 in their qualifying order. For the remainder of the stints, the gird will be set by doing 1 lap around Camino Mini. The grid will form up as per qualifying order from the previous stint. The grid will then be set to Lobby Points with a 1 second roll off for the stint to commence.

I wasn't saying the rule wasn't there, what i was saying is if whats been said is true, then 2 TORA marshals informed the lobby of the 2 pitstop rule which if i was in there i wouldve taken as a last minute rule change and anyone who has been on TORA for a while knows last minute changes are very possible.MAB170294 wrote:Well after a great weekend this whole results organizing has ruined it. Re: MSA TORA 12 Hours of Sebring 2014 Race Day Thread
i understand but this is not normally the case with such a big run event
Im thinking there have may have been some crossed wires somewhere along the lines
Normally if any changes are made they get posted before hand which this has not been the case
Sorry for any inconvenience but i think the results will stand and nothing will be altered

I don't understand. How does your lobby randomly taking 2 pit stops (which has never been a rule in any stinted endurance race on TORA) have to do with lobby A?
LMR DJFiisSHYPR asked me approximately half way through the race if there was 2 manditory pit stop and I told him there wasnt.
Congrats to him and BlackHawk as well on bringing the beautiful Champion Racing Porsche home in 4!

I don't know what the numbers in the first column mean, but your team finished ahead of my team. Even tough it was close your team drove more distance.AAR ABEnstein wrote:I know I can't be reading it right if AAR finished 42nd while the 40th place CRA team (directly below on LT) finished 40 with less distance.

Was a tough race we never really had winning pace! Could have gone much further without our issues but thats racing! We certainly enjoyed the event and feel we did a good job for our new team backing up HCR Scuderia by getting into the top 5 in GTE! Well done to both podiums!
Re: MSA TORA 12 Hours of Sebring 2014 Race Day Thread
The fact that some lobbys were doing 2 pit stops show that the hosts and drivers were not reading the rules which isn't good. Some drivers may have read the rules but didn't speak up.

Simple solution. Get an experienced host in the lobby. Not one who races once a year and has retired multiple times.

By signing up to the series you acknowledge the rules you are racing by and should read them for all series before you sign up.
As for the race, another Great Day for HCR. 2 Cars in the top 5 in GT which was out target from the beginning. Happy I could defend the race I won last year & that's due to all the work we all put in getting that Ferrari going. Sucks for the LMR team that finished second, they were unfortunate in losing around 18000 ft due to no fault of their own. To still finish second tells you everything you need to know about the pace of that team.

If that isn't already on the registration thread or the rules thread then I'll be damnedHCR Mad Dog wrote:By signing up to the series you acknowledge the rules you are racing by and should read them for all series before you sign up.
Re: MSA TORA 12 Hours of Sebring 2014 Race Day Thread
congrats to lmr red dragon on there win and to everyone else on the podium and a massive thank you to LMR DJFiisSHYPR for being a great team mate and covering an extra stint
I can see why everyone in lobby c pitted twice, even if they had read the rules, u would expect the host to be right most of the time because the rules might have been changed and the drivers haven't noticed it. and its to much hassle for the staff to work it out, just for a couple of thousand feet.

Re: MSA TORA 12 Hours of Sebring 2014 Race Day Thread
We started the first stint in B lobby a little late as we had someone double checking the rules on whether we had to do one mandatory pitstop or two.
By my count, the AAR team started 42nd overall / 29th in class and finished 30th overall / 22nd in class.
The first column on the results page currently shows your overall starting position. None of the numbers on the results sheet show any type of finishing position. To figure it out you currently have to count your position yourself.AAR ABEnstein wrote:I know I can't be reading it right if AAR finished 42nd while the 40th place CRA team (directly below on LT) finished 40 with less distance.
