Forza Horizon 2 Demo (Out Now)
Forza Horizon 2 demo is now out for Xbox One, has anyone else here managed to download it and given it ago, ive managed to get about half hour on it before going off to make the kids dinner, so far im liking it, it defo an improvement on the 1st Forza Horizon, this time its complete open world so no more hitting a fench and righting off your car, this time you smash through them, after the intro has loaded and your ready to play you start off in a Lambo and have to drive 10k, during this time you get to see it go from day time to night time, and omg it just looks awesome, (this should of been in Forza 5). Once youve choosen your car yopu get entered into 2 races and one of the races, your racing in the rain, it just looks really good, i cant wait for this to be released fully
Some of the features in Forza Horizon 2 should of been in FM5 and hopefully will arrive in FM6 (Hopefully)

I personally don't think the 360 version is worth it. It's like a worse version of the game.

Yeah, Really mad that a 360 version isn't out for us who haven't got the one...

I think it will be coming to the 360, when? im not to sure
if im honest, there is defo an improvement in FH2 than FH1, just the open world makes it better

Re: Forza Horizon 2 Demo (Out Now)
What features? Or were you referring to dynamic weather and day/night cycles?

well with forza 5 now finished for good, I do see this game as a technical exercise for forza 6, since we heard rumours that forza 6 is already underway

Jordan, Joito, FH2 for the 360 will use the same engine and team that did FH1.

Re: Forza Horizon 2 Demo (Out Now)
So after playing the demo i have this to say:
Ok first fail, Sim damage... Should of been a No like some of the things we asked about recently. It doesn't have a place in a game like this, just saying.
Anyways, the feel of the game feels like a blend of Horizon(1) and FM5 physics. Whether taking a proper line through a corner, or just power sliding around corners, the drive was just to easily controlled. Even in the wet, the car was easy to turn in and manage, much like driving on smother version of dirt road. But correcting any steering output and hold onto your pants, as what grip you seemingly had plenty of is now gone 3 sheets to the wind.
Then again, i've never driven a car over 80mph down a freshly rinsed road, with rain still a pouring. Or had, what i assume, a higher rated rain tire to control the water dispersion to allow for optimal grip... So i guess im saying this, driving in the rain doesn't have that authentic feel but more of an arcade touch.
The visuals though are just as stunning as we would of expected, textures, details, lighting, reflectiions, on and on, etc, etc... any of us could on for days on this so i won't. it looks GOOD, really GOOD, to the point to where i don't mind parking my newly acquired Lancer EVO and just let the music play as the sun rises and sets on one the most beautiful scenic backdrops i'll ever get the pleasure to enjoy from my couch.
Fail 2, the radio keeps resetting. Making for great tunes turned annoyingly over played.. Whether this was an intended to allow for users to experience the various new tracks while trying the "new" events, dunno, other than after restarting one event over 5 times, the radio did too. And no matter how many times i changed the station, i opted to just settle on the event so i didn't have to hear the radio repeat once more.
So i do love the Horizon radio, much like i did from the first, but the demo only gives us a taste. So its hard to judge if the transient uplifting tracks will be just as good as the last, but they still the set the mood for an awe struck feel with good vibes.
[ltr]I will say this after completing the final event. Its like the Hangover movie series, first one was great but the second was a bit overdone using the same high and lows as the first. The race against a plane, or planes. Again, keep it at a modest pace with no major set backs and you'll win every time by a thrilling margin. [/ltr]
[ltr] However, this time it's different as your racing an Italian version of the Blue Angels and each pass, they create so much vibration I couldn't even control the car until they were gone, which was well overly exhausting compared to the original Horizon Plane race. Which this one got old very quick, the thrill of it was great, sights and sounds and intensity as they buzz the check points is just mental! But racing them, IMO, glad I only have to do it once...[/ltr]
[ltr]In another event, blasting through corn fields and opting for the quicker way around trees and buildings was fun, unique and challenging in its own right. However, it was rather difficult to keep the car in control of the speed and grip, or lack there of, that the AI/Drivatar were some how able to control with ease. I often found myself in a tree, house, or catching wrong a light pole(or some other inanimate object) sending me for a ride i wanted no part of.[/ltr]
[ltr]Some of things i did happen to notice that may be just apparent in the demo, 1) The light doesn't flow seamless as you would think. it actually skips, covering parts of an object at a time before its completely illuminated or not. So the transition isn't that smooth.. 2) When seeing another AI/Dratar pass by on the mini map, they didn't actually appear when i panned for them until i was closer, even though from a far there wasn't any obstruction that wouldn't allow me to seem them otherwise.. [/ltr]
[ltr]Is it a racer's game? By no means it is NOT. But we knew this, it's a driver's game. Where one can just simply enjoy the drive versus the high octane, adrenaline pumping racing from what we find in FM5 or other means. It's definitely a place where a car lover can just cruise and relax, or wind down with a rather decent soundtrack, or even just kick it with friends completing various challenges or events. But we will get to find more of that once the full game is released.[/ltr]
[ltr]The demo merely gives us a taste, whether its creates a want or need to either invest or not into Horizon 2 is solely up to. Personally, in time when saving seems to carry much more weight than "living a little", its a game i'll have to wait on. Definitely not worth braking the bank if you ask me. With much of the same adventures from Horizon now just transplanted with a new map to explore, its hard for me to say its worth the selling point of a normal game that probably wont go much past face value of its initial worth.[/ltr]
[ltr]But again that is my opinion, but heck my 2yr old loves it so i may just get it on day one anyways [/ltr]
[ltr]Enjoy the demo, let loose and have fun. Isn't why we are here?

Finally got a post giving feedback, thanks Soundwave.
Sounds like it's good fun and visually stunning so I'll give the demo a try.
Thanks
