New to Online Leagues
Greetings TORA! I'm new to online racing leagues, but not entirely new to online racing. I've raced in some public online lobby races, but I didn't like them too much because of people's reckless driving. I wish to resume online racing, but this time with a different approach: league racing. TORA caught my attention while I was looking for a online league to join. TORA looks like a great place for competitive and fun racing while maintaining a realistic atmosphere. I look forward to racing in TORA!
If you guys have any advice or tips regarding TORA I would most appreciate it!

Re: New to Online Leagues
The faster you can get away from public lobbies, the better.
As far as advice goes, I would say first don't be too discouraged if you aren't matching pace with a lot of guys here. Some of these guys are legit top 20 leaderboard drivers, so they're just flat-out fast.
Second, if you want to be competitive, be prepared to practice and practice for each race. You will spend way more time testing and tuning and learning exactly when to turn in at each corner than you ever will in the actual race.
Finally, be courteous and have fun. This is still a game, after all. Give people room if it looks like contact is imminent. Since these aren't 5 lap sprints, the races are long enough that surrendering a position on lap 1 can usually be gained again later if you're truly fast enough to earn it.

Re: New to Online Leagues
Welcome to TORA! Agree 100% with Dominic. Don't get discouraged if you aren't winning. (of course, you are probably a lot faster than me so might not be an issue, lol) When I joined TORA, I kinda had the outlook that "someone has to come in last. I'll join up and the guy who used to be last gets to come in 2nd to last". But after a while, found myself working my way towards middle of the pack and recently even making A lobby for first time. But in all the races I've done on TORA, even the ones I came in dead last my a mile... I've had a blast running each and every one. Hope to see you on the track soon!

RE: New to Online Leagues
Thanks everyone! I appreciate all of your advice and encouragement Dominic, Cap10Morgan, Soundwave, and everyone who replied. I look forward to racing with you guys! To answer your question LMR: I've been karting for 11 years (and counting). Fun fact: I've played racing sims 4 years longer than karting.

Good sound advice that, best thing i ever did was find TORA and leave the public hoppers, It got to the point where i nearly quit playing, but racing with the guys here changed all that. Welcome aboard, hope to see you on track pretty soon.

Re: New to Online Leagues
Welcome to TORA I joined in I think late dec 2014 and have had tons of fun and I have become a better driver
Racing fast drives make you faster in the long run and now when I race in a public lobby I am always one of the faster drivers CHEERS

What class are you running currently? I had to stop in '13, but ran shifter for awhile before that!
RE: New to Online Leagues
I currently run Senior Sportsman with the KT100 engine and WKA spec pipe. In 2011 and 2013 I won class championships at my track. It's sad you had to stop karting LMR, but I understand it's sometimes necessary (economy, job, family, etc.). At least there's great leagues like TORA so you can continue racing!
Just wait until P.CARS comes out: TORA might be able to do a karting championship or something like that.
