Re: TORA Ford Fiesta Trophy - General Discussion
I'm liking the look of this series! I don't know if I have a team or not so I may end up either looking for one or a team-mate to run with.
Re: TORA Ford Fiesta Trophy - General Discussion
with having Cosmetic damage on certain Tracks though i sure hope to god people do not take Liberties as that would really Rattle my Cage and arguably a few others.
as for the drop round id say so as like 9 Members of HCR are going and maybe atleast 7 of us are gonna be signing up to this lol there half a grid already

Re: TORA Ford Fiesta Trophy - General Discussion
Hi folks. I have made a couple of rule changes which I would like to announce.
1) During each meeting, the damage will be set to either cosmetic or simulation depending on whether each circuit features a pitlane or not.
2) There will be a maximum of 1 dropped round only in this series. This rule includes the teams & privateer standings as well as the drivers championship table.
3) Thanks to PTG Claret for reminding me on this one as I was going to bring it up anyway with regarding the no tuning aspect & the posibility of cheating.
What's going to happen is when the sign ins close for each event, I'll be immediately uploading a stock tune to my storefront which will have "TORA FFT" within the title & the circuit which we'll be competing on.
Everyone who has signed into the race meeting will then be required to download the stock tune from my store. Before I head off to create the qualifying lobbies, I'll be checking on my storefront to see if the number of downloads match the number of entries for each race. If the numbers are short, then it's required for those who are missing the tune to download it otherwise they won't be participating in the race.
To give a demonstration, here's a sort of tutorial video of how to download the stock tune & how I'll find out how many downloads it has.
Hope this has been helpful to everyone and many thanks for all the recent feedback. It's been very helpful

Looking awesome so far! I agree with those changes and I think so will the majority of other people.
I have hit a 51.1 round Catalunya I think. It's pretty fun to drive but difficult to master.

Re: TORA Ford Fiesta Trophy - General Discussion
How will you know who has and who hasn't downloaded the tune? can you still view telemetry?
Re: TORA Ford Fiesta Trophy - General Discussion
I don't think you can view others telemetry in Replays.

Re: TORA Ford Fiesta Trophy - General Discussion
I was hoping that this would be the end of any doubts but clearly not.
We've still got 2 weeks to go until the start of this series and we've got a choice. We have 2 options:
1) We leave the car build as it is
Or
2) Replace the race suspension with Sport and remove the street clutch, race transmission and driveline. I think removing the race differential makes no difference to either the P.I or Weight so that'll have to stay.
Everyone please choose between option 1 & 2

Re: TORA Ford Fiesta Trophy - General Discussion
Or you could just allow tuning and make it easier on yourself? tuning in these cars with this build isn't going to make that much difference compared to say the RMC. You don't have to tune if you don't want to so why not just let everyone do what the want? Saves everyone messing about tbh.

Allow tuning would not make it spec cup series. Did you notice that round 1 is on Good Friday don't if this makes a difference

XB6 Broomzke wrote:Allow tuning would not make it spec cup series
Im sure that you can tune the car as much as you like and it would still be the same spec Ford Fiesta as the rest of the field.
Re: TORA Ford Fiesta Trophy - General Discussion
I'm not sure why we're having a discussion about tuning. I thought the whole premise of a spec-cup is that there is no tuning/everyone uses the same tune. In fact, that's pretty much the reason I'm going to do this, so that we're all on the same page and I don't have to worry my pants off trying to tune the car to go faster and faster giving me more to worry about than I already do with GT and Indycar. I want this to be a stress free series I can turn up to with minimal practice done and still have a chance at doing well. If tuning is involved, consider me out.
Re: TORA Ford Fiesta Trophy - General Discussion
Just catching up with this series and I've had to read the rules twice because it makes no sense - why build a car with race parts if you don't want people to tune? That's just silly.
There's nothing new here, people have been running stock/spec series since Forza 2, nothings changed:
- If you want everyone to have an identical car, use the Force Upgrades & Tuning option
- If you want to use an upgraded car, fit non-race parts (and ensure the build is tamperproof - i.e. get the weight as low as possible at a given PI using rims, so if any additional parts are added the PI increases).
This is basic, Forza 101 stuff. To fit race parts and then come up with a convoluted plan to force people to use a tune by counting the number of downloads isn't a reliable way to ensure everyone is using the same tune. When you go to download there is a Download and Install (which puts the tune on the car) and a Download and Save option (which doesn't). So you downloads could be the right number and still people haven't loaded the tune. Or they load another tune after. And if your download numbers DON'T match, how will you decide who to point the finger at and ban from racing? Answer is, you can't, it's unworkable.
Just to be clear, I'm not advocating having tuning in this series - there's a place for having a fun, easy to enter series with no tuning required, but these rules are asinine. If you have a rule that can't be enforced, or even check that they're being followed, then that rule is WORTHLESS. All you'll end up with is a series clouded in suspicion and finger pointing if someone's doing well.

Re: TORA Ford Fiesta Trophy - General Discussion
To quote the ancient philosopher, Clarksonious, 4th century B.C:
"HOW HARD CAN IT BE?!"
I'm getting a bit fed up & tired of having this conversation to be honest! And it's getting quite clear now that I cannot honest rely on certain people to follow the rules about tuning. Either that or those who question still don't know the meaning to the word "FUN".
Anyway, this is going to be the final change to the rules & regs. To save this hastle, I'm going to change the build of the Fiesta back to its stock specification! And will introduce the "force stock upgrade" option in the lobby settings.
Now I do hope this will be the end of this conversation!!

Just all need a rethink before posting, ask questions of themselves 'Can we enforce this and manage it?'.
That's the top and bottom of the recent issues the rule change at any time is being over used because the thought before posting isn't being done to the what it should be so rules are constantly changing, not always through people's moaning sometimes done off organiser's back to improve what they didn't think of when asking the questions.

Great point Chris, and something I try to keep in mind. Not just in series that I set up, but in discussions about coming series set up by others as well. Thing is, its usually not until it goes public that certain omissions or "what if's" come about, and sometimes we as Staff may be a bit wrapped up in other concerns that something rather obvious and avoidable goes through without comment by other staff members.
