2015 TORA INDY 500 Regulations
1st off this race will not be geo-blocked and will be wide open to wild card entrants.
2nd There will be a special registration thread for this race, if you are a regular full season entrant you do not need to re-submit unless you are changing cars or have been absent for some time and are no longer part of the team you initially were signed up to.
Build rules-
All cars must have stock rims, no exceptions!
All cars must have aftermarket Superspeedway Wings and Bumpers.
Qualifying-
26 Spots are available to qualify for. 7 drivers who have participated in every single IndyCar Series race have a position on the gird already locked in upon completion of a time/speed. Should one of these drivers be sitting last (On the bubble) and a someone goes faster than them, they would not be knocked out but someone who does not have a reserved position will be. (any questions on that please ask, list of drivers will be posted at the bottom of this post.)
Drivers will be given 3 attempts per day (looking at having 2 days for qualifying) to qualify for the race. An attempt counts as taking the green flag after you're warm up laps.
Lobby's will have up to 3 drivers attempting at a time, collisions will be off and drivers will be spaced apart as to not interfere with on another. Drivers will have 2 warm up laps and 4 flying laps. again at the start of your flying laps it will count as an attempt!. After Day 1 the front row will be locked in.
Should a driver set a time, still be in the field and wish to set another time, upon making organizers aware of intention to make another attempt on the forums their previous time is officially withdrawn and attempts are not reset. You get 3 chances, period!
Field will be 33 drivers (3 lobbies of 11) should 1 of the qualified drivers not make the event the driver who is 34th will be admitted into the field but at the tail end (even if time is faster than 33rd, see above about guaranteed positions to drivers who raced in every race up to this point if confused.)
Race-
There will be 5, 40 lap segments for the night accumulating to 500 miles of racing.
Segment 1 will be set to 42 laps (first 2 count as warm up laps) and will race to the finish.
Segment 2-5 will be set to 40 laps with the first 2 laps of the segment counting as "caution" laps where drivers will get into grid positions and then go back to racing. no pass for positions until crossing the start finish line.
Lobbies will not be "Live Lobbies" meaning no reshuffle after each segment, this is to save time on the night. Lobby B will have 2.5 seconds added onto their first segment time only and Lobby C will have 5 seconds added onto theirs, this gives advantage to qualifying in a higher lobby. Results will be accumulative time for all 5 segments. Lower lobbies you have 500 miles to make up the time you are behind, anything can happen!
Damage will be cosmetic!

Re: 2015 TORA INDY 500 Regulations
Worried about people sandbagging in qualifying to get into a lower lobby :l Yes they get 2.5 seconds added on, but if the top battle is too tight then that'll be easy to make up for a driver in a lower lobby who could be batting no one

More concerned with Cosmetic Damage, as some tend to lose their common sense when the red mist sets in.

No cautions as any lobby can win the race and if a caution comes out that lobbies race isessentially over
