It's not exempt, it's simply an 'exception' insofar as we will be a little more lenient there that elsewhere.
If you go 'by the book' then that wide line used in the BTCC vid should result in a penalty. Indeed, this was the exact argument brought up when the MSA was bringing in the stricter track limits rules. That is all we're trying to say.
At circuits such as Silverstone we'll be issuing 'hot-spot' notices in the thread that indicate areas of the circuit that will be under particular scrutiny.

I believe Colling is prepping a pictoral guide to better represent what we're getting at

I know the rules about Track limits is what has said said but is there going to be a number of times you can do it? Or can you do it all the time?
I am going to take the proper line as In my opinion that's what happens in real life

Re: TORA Avon Tyres British GT Championship: General Discussion
I made the call on track limits. Normal TORA track limits rules are 'Two wheels on the track (black stuff!) at all times" which is what we WILL be in-forcing throughout the championship. For round 1 we will allow drivers to run wide out of turn 1 and that is it - rest of the track the rules must be respected. Any driver who feels another driver has disrespected the track limits can file a SI for TORA Stewards to investigate.
We use a 3 strike rule, if a driver runs more than 2 wheels off track 3 times they incur a penalty, unless there is good reason for it happening. Any more after the 3 strikes will incur in a increased level of punishment.

Re: TORA Avon Tyres British GT Championship: General Discussion
Like we said, there's a pictoral guide coming to make this a whole lot easier.
It's not a case of it being 'allowed' or not. It's a matter of leniency on that corner in particular because we appreciate on occasion there may be need to use. During close car to car dicing, avoidance of a collision that sort of thing.
There really isn't an issue here.

Re: TORA Avon Tyres British GT Championship: General Discussion
Eggy you have to think that the 1st turn is harder to take than the other turns that have a lot of run-off which are the the exit to the 2nd chicane and the last turn. in a race they will get used all the time because racing will be happening, but for the 1st turn its harder and at a higher speed and if you hit that inside curb things dont end well. and yes its easy to not run wide by going slower but wheres the fun in not pushing the car around the corner at speed, but for the other two run-off there slower and easier to avoid abusing.

Re: TORA Avon Tyres British GT Championship: General Discussion
You should be given 3 Warnings in the race. Then a penalty. Do the rules properly. Its not fair on those who where taking the corner the right and the people abusing Track limits now have a free token to do that

Maybe if people use there breaks at the first turn they would have on problems

Re: TORA Avon Tyres British GT Championship: General Discussion
Guys.. This is the limitation. If you don't want to use the it in 1, you don't have to, but it will be allowed. Can we please get over this already?

Not everyone is going to know how much slipstream is going to affect their cars cornering ability, go to wide, brake late etc you will end up using the run-off. brake to early or turn to early you hit the inside curb sending your car into a a slide or even spinning and we dont want that to happen with cars around you in a race.

Can we not have someone join, and then retire to spectate to ensure people don't abuse track limits?

Don't know about anyone else but when I've tried to spectate a race the game doesn't allow it. Just leaves me sat in the garage facing out with no option to monitor the rest of the race.
