Post by michaeI watts Sun 5 Jul 2015 - 23:41

haha, I was in Lobby 3 and had the game Freeze after lap 7. Had to do a Hard Reset. Checked all my connections. My host Tried to send me an invite for Race 2, but by the time my game loaded up and I could get in, the race was starting and I wasn't allowed to take part. Just as well, I was terrible in the rain, but I never want to invest that kind of time into anything again just to have be locked out. You guys run a fine site, and there are a lot of good helpful people here but today the Game PROJECT CARS let you down. SMS and WMD should be embarrassed to have released such an inferior product. I have withdrawn my entry into any future races until Project Car's lobbies become more stable. That is several hours of my life I can't get back.

The not so good is Project CARS and a Z4. The game crashed on all of us in lap four of the second race. Lots of people got disconnected before it, too.
Finally, a BMW Z4. This very slow car would not let the GT4 leaders pass causing major disruption in the race. It was also not running with its headlights on and was brake checking in the first sector, every single time.

tbh dude, if a GT3 car is Ahead of you but is pritty slow, it is your job 2 find your own way past him, he is not obliged to let you past in anyway shape or Form, and the "HeadLights" was not Mandatory it was Optional. he has done nothing wrong at all imo.

I wouldn't say that. If a car is not battling for position with the people approaching he needs to get out of the way. Regardless of the class. I got horrendous damage with 2 laps to go and I was letting GT4's through as easily as I could because it was MY job to.

he didnt have Damage, and the GT3 Cars were not that far ahead of the GT4's, so he was kind of battling for Position by trying 2 push harder to catch us up just a shame that the rain damage alot of people in different ways and helped others.

If he didn´t have any damage then it only makes matter worse. There were three GT4 cars battling each other for positions and the Z4 was brake-checking, blocking and going off the racing line every single time. He got away in the straights but it was constantly braking earlier and there were points where he simply cut the track. Meanwhile, the GT4 leaders were trying not to hit each other because there was simply no racing space at all. Headlights are not mandatory but they should be. The fact that, due to the splash, we barelly could see anything only made matters worse.

Every single GT3 car got away and he did not. He was disrupting our race. Blocking our way and causing major stress and confusion. When he did let us pass, he braked hard, like it was trying to crash on purpose.

Honestly, I don´t see why he or me should battle for position. His car was obviously faster than mine. If he was slow he should have been in a lower lobby. That is what the qualification is for.

this game really isn't ready to run a competition on... couldn't chat to the other GT3 cars in the first race which was pretty scary with a rolling start in the rain, followed up by picking up insane damage from clipping a wall only to be released on the wrong tyres (again!)

oh and during my pitstop the game decided to reverse me back out of my box and back down to the pit entry, before pitting me, losing me almost an entire lap - utter joke!

Thanks to all our hosts last night.
Obviously there are still a few niggles with CARS but we have proven that fun can be had (even when wet - giggidy).
Obviously it's a disappointment for those who had connection issues and/or game issues. I hope to see you all back for Silverstone where I'm hoping it'll be typical July weather, sunny and HOT!

I got caught out on the tyre issue - it's a finniky process ensuring the tyres are correct but something that, for me, if I'd bothered practicing I probably wouldn't have had issue with at all!
As for the reversing glitch - I've never heard that one before. Really strange!

I refute the fact it's not ready for competition. It can be. Yes there are still some issues to contend with and we work around them to best of our ability. Connection issues, lag outs or the inability to drive in weather isn't the game's fault or the fault of the organisers.
Remember back in the 'good ol days' of Forza 3 and 4 where people could join lobbies due to NAT setting conflicts etc etc etc?

There's the makings of a great game here and many people had a lot of fun. Certainly our lobby was eventful but fair and interesting. I commented to the guys there that I hadn't had to concentrate on a race so hard in years. That to me is a good thing. I want to be challenged. I want racing to be hard. I think we've been a bit spoiled by Forza over the years. Difficult racing is where it's at. SMS have made some duff decisions, of that there's no doubt, but we can't slam it all the time.
At least we're trying to make a good series here and give people the option to race in it. Better than limited them to Forza 4 and a few series on 5. Anyway, it's not too long until September Wink

when i have to pit twice and lose a further 30 seconds in the pits due to a game glitch, it's far from being enjoyable - it doesn't make racing hard, it makes it impossible as this put me 2 laps down in the race, i'm then just driving round alone, i can do that offline - limiting damage would help massively, in reducing the need to pit full stop until SMS have sorted it

i got punted off by someone at oulton park, race ending damage, that's not fun either

still some lag issues, mainly caused i believe by those who don't even know what a NAT setting is...

Great Hosting by jenson09. I'm sorry for giving you guys in lobby 6 a hard time (it was actually my first race) but this big butt (insert synonym here) Z4 was just undriveable in these conditions. Still at the start of the race I had some great because hard but fair foght battles. Looking forward to, hopefully sunny Silverstone...

I pitted THREE times in Race 2. Once to fix heavy rear damage from T1 (that despite nearly leading going into the first turn) then twice because I through Inters may work but it was still too wet then a third time onto wets. Then the car was on rails. OK I was 2 laps down on the leaders and eventually unlapped myself on the GT4s which was fun in itself.
whatever floats your boat I suppose.
