Re: Round 2 - Zolder Track Inspection
Lobby hosts will be watching when they can, plus all racers are allowed to submit a SI if they feel there's been any wrong doing.
Wish we could go through every replay after the races but it is what it is

Re: Round 2 - Zolder Track Inspection
How about a mandatory upload of your best lap written into the rules, then anyone can view it. Lobby hosts aren't going to be able to monitor it in at all, they have enough to do anyway.

I sent matt this message
To make sure that people are NOT abusing/corner cutting why not make everyone upload there BEST lap time and then watch it to make sure that people are playing fairly ?
and he STILL has not responded and I sent this 13 days ago as well as people telling me this was the worst idea ever.

Re: Round 2 - Zolder Track Inspection
the only problem with this, is that people are going to have to stop in a session, then record their lap. but not everyone is going to achieve a lap that they are satisfied with and will want to continue on their next lap if they have good track position. are you also going to review 150+ replays too and have to watch them multiple times to make sure it is clean? at best i had 2 good laps for qualifying at oulton, i was stuck behind traffic or slower drivers. 30 mins and traffic is not enough time to stop after every good lap to game DVR it and then have to start from the pit again.

Re: Round 2 - Zolder Track Inspection
Unfortunately with the current system in game we really have to rely on people's good nature and sporting attitude until such time as a more 'Forza-esque' replay system is implemented.
It will make enforcing such things quite tough yes but as TORA is meant to be about learning and developing our skills as drivers etc, no one learns a lot from cutting corners and general other mistreatment of the track.
British - I did see your message and passed the idea on to the relevant guys but as above, it's very difficult to police fairly.
It's not even as if you can have a guy in lobby on the monitor following certain drivers at different times. That would also be a good way around the issue.

Re: Round 2 - Zolder Track Inspection
Fair enough, must admit I haven't had a good look at what pCars replays are capable of. My suggestion was if we could save the whole session individually and then edit via the dvr, but if we can't then it can't be done that way. Hopefully the track limits mentioned in the next update will sort this out in time for the next race.

Re: Round 2 - Zolder Track Inspection
There's no fair way of policing anything on pcars ATM only real fair way is for each driver to go out one at a time so the stewards can watch each driver complete there set laps but that would take an age to do....

Re: Round 2 - Zolder Track Inspection
Actually IMO that's not a bad idea open up quali for all week have a max of ten per lobby give em a 10 min practice then each driver gets say 6 laps like we did in forza...

Re: Round 2 - Zolder Track Inspection
To many corners that could be cut on some tracks, you'd need 457 stewards sitting at corners on say Silverstone.jonnotheone wrote:Actually IMO that's not a bad idea open up quali for all week have a max of ten per lobby give em a 10 min practice then each driver gets say 6 laps like we did in forza...

Re: Round 2 - Zolder Track Inspection
In quali you can monitor people as if your spectating so you'd only need the host to monitor.

Re: Round 2 - Zolder Track Inspection
The easiest, least stressful way to do this for everyone with consistency imo is using the game limits to decide what is and isn't a validated lap. Those limits are hardwired into the game and everyone has the same limits. IMO...trying to police this is far more effort than needed. I personally try avoiding the bumps in the chicanes at all cost because they are very unpredictable and can end a lap and race real quick. Just seems to me...if everyone uses the game limits...everyone has the same advantages and disadvantages and nobody can exploit it.
Just my 2 cents.

Re: Round 2 - Zolder Track Inspection
Have to agree to agree with you on that, except the level of abuse that can be executed on this particular track is too much and certain cars take those bumps better than others. I managed a 1:25.9 when I blew out the chicanes, as crazy as that seems

LOL...eek, didn't realize that was even possible. That explains the insane times I see on the leaderboard. Considering this...I concede this idea for this track but still feel it would work best for most other tracks.

Re: Round 2 - Zolder Track Inspection
Yeah definitely would at other places.
They've also said Patch 2.0 is going to reassess track limits in abused areas which should help as well

Re: Round 2 - Zolder Track Inspection
I feel it's best to wait for patch 2.0 as it has a few major points that will help things run smoother, especially the one regarding track limits. It is going to be a couple of weeks until it lands, so I guess it's been decided we're going to try and struggle by this week regardless.

Re: Round 2 - Zolder Track Inspection
Why reduce it, mechanical failures are off so essintially your running simulation damage like we do on forza

Re: Round 2 - Zolder Track Inspection
Lobby hosts who are not qualifying themselves WILL be able to follow and assess the driving of others in the lobby.
I found this out last night

most forza events i've competed in run limited?
in the first race i regrettably took out another driver, who's race was then effectively over, and in the second race i got taken out and was forced to retire - we aren't running mechanical failures to keep as many people racing as possible so why are we running full damage, especially when pcars is very weak in actually letting you know what is wrong with your car following an incident
if we are going to stay will full damage then we may as well run mechanical failures as well, as the reason for not doing so is contradictory

the whole track limit monitoring thing won't work... unless you police something 100% then giving punishments for those caught is inconsistent - at most you can give a warning, which won't deter

Re: Round 2 - Zolder Track Inspection
It does at least mean if you see it going on you can speak to that driver in real time.
Like I said before, it's not perfect but it's a solution if people do choose to take the mickey.
