Vauxhall to pull out of the BTCC
http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/74519
Vauxhall are pulling out of the BTCC as of the end of this season. This is massive, seeing as Vauxhall have so much history in the series, its like if Ferrari puleed out of F1.
So, will this mean WTCC for Giovanardi? Will Vovlo enter the BTCC next year? Hopefully Tripple Eight will stay, im sure they could give a great fight to the title next season in either a Vectra, or mabey converting their Ford links from the Aussie V8's and running Ford Focus'?
Only time will tell, but this isnt looking good for the BTCC.

Re: Vauxhall to pull out of the BTCC
Jeez...
So, an all independant BTCC from next year I guess, cos I highly doubt Volvo will get involved now. Still, I think without the money from Vauxhall preparing those cars, the championship for 2010 will become more open.
And Steve Neal could end up with his stated dream-team next year of Matt Neal and James Thompson, as it is inevitable that Neal will return to Dynamics now.
Looks like the BTCC is suffering from the credit crunch as much as WRC is. We've lost both our manufacturers in a year. Still, as Alan Gow said in his statement today, the BTCC is still growing year-on-year in terms of popularity and viewing figures, and I reckon that despite the lack of works teams, we'll still have a cracking year.
Everyone thought this year would be awful, but Brands Hatch proved us wrong. It was arguably the best start to a season I can remember. Guess we just need to enjoy the rest of this year with VXR, then see what the close season brings in terms of rumours and gossip.
Will definetly be at Knockhill now, though, for Vauxhall's last visit.
