WIX Racing NATCC - Round Two (Lime Rock South) - Drivers Briefing/Discussion

Welcome to the second round of WIX Racing NATCC!  I would once again apologize for the delays last week, and to say that we should have everything figured out now...in theory.  This week we are at the Lime Rock Park South Chicane Course.  This variation is very similar to the full Lime Rock course with the only difference being a small chicane up hill.  Lime Rock Park has hosted a lot of different type of racing over the years, and has a reputation of being a family-friendly place since race spectators are encouraged to picnic on the hills that overlook the track since it has no grand stands.  

Qualifying - This will be the typical "6 laps and out" qualifying.  Drivers will have 1 warm-up laps, 4 flying laps, and 1 cool down lap during which drivers will park on Turn 1 (literally called Big Bend) were lobby hosts will collect times.  Remember that drivers should be/appear online 15 minutes prior to qualifying start, and should keep in-lobby chat to a minimal.  

Race - There will be two races in an evening, and each will last around 25 minutes.  For Lime Rock South, that will be 22 laps.  Race One will form up on the grid in the order in which the competitors qualified.  Race Two will form up on the grid in the order in which the competitors finished Race One.  There will be no mandatory pit stops during the races, but the pits will be open if your car becomes damaged.
NOTE: Until the "inactivity" issue is addressed, we will be offically switching from standing starts to  "safety car" starts.  For safety car starts, drivers will organize themselves into a rolling start and will drive around the track at 40 mph.  When drivers pass the pit entrance on the Sam Posey Straight, the driver on poll can start the race by simply saying go whenever he wants.

I know that Virgin Media deciding to service the line at midnight through till 01:30, wasnt exactly great timing, managed to get online again on Lap 2 of the first race....................

race1 took 21minutes and change. "Oh Myyy" I thought we'd be stuck with a replay of stationary cars still...

both replays saved fine for me and are both shared.

It's a shame I had to miss the second race in a row. Perhaps in the future races won't be planned for holiday weeks when racers might have family obligations? Just a thought.

There is a bit of a break around Christmas and New Years.

Yeah. Just a bit of a miss with people traveling for Thanksgiving.
