in race 1 it was off and the racing was close/ awesome in race 2 it was turned on and very different race occurredF4H Diablo wrote:Wait TCS was turned on? Well that's BS. Must've been in the bathroom for that discussion. That makes a massive difference with some of those cars.
Amarth is dead on- regardless of whether the event is "for fun" or not, it needs to be organized.
I suggest alobby only as a ... upper difficulty level for more seasoned drivers
Re: Round 1: Watkins Glen
pss...REAL MEN DONT USE TCS!!! sure your quick but take the training wheels off your throttle ladies
Re: Round 1: Watkins Glen
It definitely would've been nice for everyone to have known that TCS was allowed earlier, but people are usually on the forums the day of the race, so I'm surprised not very many people caught it. However, I will say that I was at an advantage because I signed up the day of the race, and I happened to notice Matt's post. When I noticed that, I took the opportunity to grab a rocket car that I can't drive so well with TCS off as seen in Race 1. Was it a bit cheap? Arguably, but I simply followed the rules in my favor.
Those who chose cars due to thinking TCS was forbidden didn't exactly lose out, either. The Camaro and Alfa are stellar cars on every track besides Monza. There's also one car change allowed, so anyone can change to a more desired choice if TCS was the only obstacle beforehand.

Re: Round 1: Watkins Glen
Yes seriously TCS is allowed, because 700+ HP.
But seriously, in initial balance tests, I had TCS turned off, as in most cars, I could not like the massive understeer it created.

Re: Round 1: Watkins Glen
What a joke.
Let's write up rules for a series and oh wait, change most of them by Round 1, even during the intermission between races 1 and 2? Laughable.
Roscoe normally you and I don't see eye to eye on things, but I'm with you here. Utter

I changed the lobby settings because I was informed that the rules were changed in a different post earlier that day, otherwise I would have allowed it for race 1 aswell. I hope your anger isn't wrongly directed at me as I was only told after race 1 and I followed the rules and regs until told it was wrong.
Also I have no issues driving cars with 700+ hp without TCS because all of my hopper cars are exactly that but in B class I just don't have enough time to tune these cars to my liking 😐

@Hayden- Not at you, no.
It's just a sign of things that a CT member is just as confused with the rules as the rest of us.

Re: Round 1: Watkins Glen
Had anyone checked the "Lobby Settings" thread, you'd have seen what is and is not allowed.
Re: Round 1: Watkins Glen
Does anyone not see the real issue here?
I don't think TCS should be allowed but I'm not going to argue that point. I don't care much about that.
The problem is the Rules and Regs, the Lobby Settings page, and the Race Day thread all had conflicting information going into Round 1. This is unacceptable.

I've just made a post suggesting a good few ways in which we can prevent this from ever happening again. I agree this is not great and things like this should not be happening.

Re: Round 1: Watkins Glen
Seriously guys, the points have been covered in a previous post. We're here to have fun.
You do not have to use TCS, but for accessibility it is there for those who don't have the confidence to run these cars. Hadie sorry you weren't told of the TCS issue, as mentioned it was in the lobby settings but fair enough we could have said directly.
Diablo, sorry but if it is unacceptable please feel free to head back to your other site. This is, I say again, a fun championship. It's not 100% serious and is meant to be accessible to all. TORA also reserves the right to amend any or all regulations for championships as it sees fit to benefit the majority of competitors.

The problem is not that you didn't tell me it's that it contradicts all over the place. How am I meant to know what one to look at when the rules and regulations and the lobby settings differ. The issue is that and not anything else.
And it is a fun championship and I had two really enjoyable races on Sunday but that's not the problem anyone is having with the series. It just comes across half arsed and as if people don't care when there's so many contradictions and it makes me look a fool in the lobby.

Exactly. I enjoyed the races, was a great time. Hayden said it perfectly.

I agree. I would be confused if threads contradicted each other and I too would feel quite sheepish having to amend lobby settings between races because I looked at a thread which wasn't accurate.
Re: Round 1: Watkins Glen
Anyway, it's been amended as previously stated. So everyone is on the same page.
When did people forget that we're here as a hobby, not your personal entertainment?
Mistakes happen, it doesn't require two pages of complaint when ultimately the vast majority had a great time, the issue such as it was was identified and amended. End of story really.
I'm as hardcore a racing fan as they come but some of you guys really know how to suck the fun out of this for me.

Re: Round 1: Watkins Glen
you cant take poop so personally.... there is no reason the premier drivers in any a lobby at tora need tcs... it only makes a larger divide... clearly they can do it as per race1.... as I said it was a great race at a great track,in my favorite car on a very good site.... but TCS IS FOR "wow why did that word not get auto coret" wussies

Re: Round 1: Watkins Glen
Anyway, in the continuing vein of external site members trying to ruin a fun and exciting series, we move on to Silverstone.
See you there people who are enjoying themselves!

You do realise that those who've been complaining about the rules discrepancies still admit to having a fun race? It's not whether or not TCS is allowed as much as the uncertainty of it being allowed.
In other words, go enjoy your RPG games, you're missing out on some great racing.
