Stock Car Racing (NASCAR, ARCA... BRISCA?? :P)

My interest in NASCAR is starting to wane now that LM week is approaching..

I will however be watching the road races coming up shortly.

it's always nice to have on the F1 off weekends.

I really cant be bothered with F1 at the moment as it is anyway

Theres plenty BTCC stuff to watch anyway, and if I miss any support races, I will have recorded the whole event, so I can spread them out over a few weeks. I was watching the Porsche race from Oulton today.

Who's watching the NASCAR race at Infineon? i am!

i wish they didnt bypass the best part of the track though. :-\

true, but the problem is, i havent liked it when they run Infineon since they cut out nearly 1/2 the track. :-\ bring back the other half, and thatd be gravy!

Just watched Watkins Glen Sprint Cup and OMFG how lucky is Sam Hornish not to be badly hurt after the crash with Jeff Gordon and Jeff Burton.
It reminded me of a Forza destruction derby seeing the car go round so many times!!!

jeff gordon should have been injurned worse, he went straight into an unpadded wall with out any run off zone, i think he was having back prolems and had just gotten them fixed. back to square one

i was listening to it on Sirius while i was at work, and just by the radio announcers, it sounds bad. havent seen video of it yet. Ambrose is getting closer and closer for his 1st Sprint Cup win. he's got a Nationwide series win, if not 2.

Yeah, just goes to show how safe the COT is, if that was an Aussie V8 or even an S2000 touring car, it would have resulted in massive injury or perhaps even fatal injuries.

I really do wish there were more Road Courses on the calander, I would mabey watch it more. I do respect the skill needed to drive on an oval, and the high level of skill and close racing is there, but, i really cant be bothered watching similar looking tracks all the time! I'll watch Daytona, I'll watch Talladega and I'll watch Homestead, but thats about it for oval races, I always do make an effort to watch the road races, espeicaly in the Nationwide series too, like when they used to go to Mexico City, they looked awsome going round the Peraltada!

yeah. i sometimes wish the Sprint Cup series would run the road courses the Nationwide runs. Mexico City, and the Villenue (my spelling is way off, i know) Circuit, and keep Infineon and Watkins Glen on the schedule.

NASCAR stock cars are designed with so much safety its insane, the only recent deaths (circa 2001) came from drivers not using the hans device

I found pics of the car that Ford will be entering in the NASCAR Nationwide Series' 'new car'. i may be late on this if anyone has already knew about this. i just found out tonight as im watching the Atlanta race right now, and got curious. anyways, here's the pics.

as it stands, NASCAR is planning to debut the 'new car(s)' in 4 races next year in the 2010 Nationwide Series season. they're hoping for the Superspeedways, an oval, and a road course (they're aiming for Watkins Glen)
