Re: American Iron UK : Lap times
Currently at 1.41.66 in a GTO, might be able to get 1 or 2 tents off it. Anyone got any tips or key points to the track? It's not one I know very well!!

Re: American Iron UK : Lap times
I hope to have a lobby open near 8PM BST (another near 9PM EDT) for testing. Expect both Q runs and full fuel runs.
Re: American Iron UK : Lap times
Any times for Watkins yet guys?
Im at low 2.01s at the moment with a little bit left in it, I know there`s a few cars that could go sub 2 mins.

Re: American Iron UK : Lap times
Really? I have the 69 judge close to full power and minimum weight, it's quite strong but I will be driving at my absolute limit to get to a low 2.01 or high 2.00, how is the cougar so strong within the same power and weight restrictions?

Re: American Iron UK : Lap times
GRIM RACER in US side can do 2.01 in Impala without much effort think he was using Sonoma tune but not 100% sure he won at Sonoma last week with it maybe a useful tip from what I've heard is to hit the corners about mid track instead of getting close to the berms seems to keep rpms higher good luck on getting it to stick tho lol

Re: American Iron UK : Lap times
Not sure I have the 442 and it's great handling wise I'm at Max power and torque for stock motor but it falls on its face on the straights getting 2.06 as my best time in US

Re: American Iron UK : Lap times
Also it might be that the Cougar has a lower center of gravity compared to the Judge

Re: American Iron UK : Lap times
Yea, definitely stay off all the kerbs after you exit the chicane, first turn and chicane are fine thought. I didn't even test the 442 but I heard there were good times set at Sonoma in one. At Sonoma my best was a dirty 1.40.5, and it was dirty from the last sector of the previous lap, I just couldn't hook up another lap like it. Off that basis I'm not too bothered about the 1.40.4 set in the cougar in the UK race, but as I said, if 1.59's are being run at Watkins, then most people will have no chance. The front 4 cars may drive 4 wide the whole way round the circuit 😂

Re: American Iron UK : Lap times
In saying that, I'm into the 2.01s in a 70 Camaro, 2.02s in a 69 trans am and 2.02s in a nova 2, the rest of the field are very close, I'm sure if I was putting the same effort into these cars I'm not racing I could get them to 2.01s consistently. So I think there is a lot of good racing to be had, with or without an OP car.

Re: American Iron UK : Lap times
I'm able to match the 2:03.1s I did in last season's 650PI Cougar, but yet to better that.

Re: American Iron UK : Lap times
It's Monday, who has attempted catalunya? I have a 1.19 so far I think. Haven't changed the build much here, just added rear aero so far. The judge is a bit of a lump around here.

Re: American Iron UK : Lap times
19s are about where most cars will sit, where within depends on driver and build. My Charger is at a 19.2 with me at the wheel with the WG tune. Some tweaks and I should be at a 18.8-18.9, maybe quicker. Car currently slides like a puppy on a wet linoleum floor so once that's fixed, it'll be good to go. Perhaps a bit extra rear wing...
