currently running low 1:34 to high 1:33 around long beach. possibly able to run lower if I can stop spinning tires after the 180

Re: TORAus StockHatch Series 2 - lap times
I just did 1:34:319 in my Alfa, about the 180 spinning the wheels I think I have an idea but don't know if will work.

I'm not the best tuner, but I dropped my accel on this track for that same reason. My tune is a bit different than Laguna.

I'm not either but do you spin tires around the 180 with a lower final drive then a higher final

Yes, you are correct. If you are spinning tires then you would want to increase the front acceleration.

Re: TORAus StockHatch Series 2 - lap times
forza gets weird with diff tuning- lower the diff, the more "one wheel peel" you're gonna get, which robs you of speed. All about finding a balance.
Only trouble spot i have is T1 because the car won't squat and tries to run out to the wall. I think I have a solution but at the risk of making the car unstable... We shall see.
Also can we have some clarification on track limits? Specifically turns 4, 5, and 6 (off camber Twinkie turn, left hander with red line boundary, and Twinkie turn with annoying tire wall)? Racing line brings you over the first couple of twinkies in the first turn mentioned, and the red line on the outside of the left hand turn seems a bit arbitrary... Just so I (and others) know what to expect.
Times would vary by about 1/2 second or more, depending if you use "forza clean" lap or not.

Re: TORAus StockHatch Series 2 - lap times
the race line is the red line around the track. yes brake line is over the red line. that is fine. you cant cornor hop the corner but you can put two wheels on it where the brake line is. must pass all twinkies coming to that corner. same at the tire wall. let me know if you need any more help with race limits. also you must go all the way down the yellow strip coming out of pit road before coming back on track.

When coming up to the first corner, drivers must stay to the left of the red line. You can still have to wheels over that red line, but NO MORE than that. Be sure to stay off the inside rumble strip when going through this corner as well (what is shown is wrong).
When going through the round-about (Turn 2-3), while you can still keep two wheels on the track, do not go up on angled part of the kerbing. Anything beyond the example below will be seen as corner cutting.
For Turn 4, be sure to once again stay off the inside kerbing.
For Turn 5, do not turn into the corner until that you go past all of the "twinkies." The first image shows the incorrect line while the second image shows the correct one.
For Turn 6, Tecate Turn, be sure to once again stay off the inside kerbing. Anything beyond the example below will be seen as corner cutting.
For Turn 7, which is actually considered a turn for some reason, when you are going down towards Pine Avenue make sure that you are staying to the left of the red line (what is shown is wrong).
For Turn 8, be sure to once again stay off the inside kerbing. Anything beyond the example below will be seen as corner cutting. When in doubt for this corner, make sure to stay off the bumps that I have circled in the image.
For Turn 9, Firestone, be sure to once again stay off the inside kerbing. Anything beyond the example below will be seen as corner cutting.
For Turn 10, Indy Left, much like Turn 8, be sure to once again stay off the inside kerbing. Anything beyond the example below will be seen as corner cutting.
For Turn 11, the hairpin, while it is actually impossible to cut the hairpin, make sure you are not doing what I show in the photo below.
For pitting, please make sure that you call you pit-ins so that everyone that around you knows since the pit entrance is a bit dangerous. When exiting pits, follow the yellow line on the right side of the road until it curves back into the track as I've shown in the image below.
This is what I was looking for, I knew I'd seen it somewhere before. Now everyone can use this as a reference, thank you Ben for doing this earlier in the year
These rules definitely slow the pace up. You can do mid-high 30s based on Forza track limits at least, 31s will be normal pace unless that Scion can use straightline speed to overcome its cornering issues.

Re: TORAus StockHatch Series 2 - lap times
What was the reason for turn 7 being a no no?

Re: TORAus StockHatch Series 2 - lap times
The track limit is indicated by the red line. Going to the right of that line would be considered "exceeding track limits." While two tires (and preferably 50% or less of the car) may be over the line, all four tires would be considered "exceeding track limits" and subject to penalty.GLR BOOST wrote:What was the reason for turn 7 being a no no?

1:33.115
So with my 1:33.115 I should be a good "Middle-Of-The-Packer"... I hope the magic of racing levels the playing field in my favor...lol

Ran about 15 laps yesterday and my best was somewhere in the 33 range at Road America with my tune from Laguna.

Just did some quick practice today. Ended up with a 02:29.596 not sure where I'll stand with that here at Rd America?

2:31.125 in the Corsa. Its way off the pace compared to the Scion's. I take them through corners but they pull hard on the long stretches.

Re: TORAus StockHatch Series 2 - lap times
Yea im runnin bout te same xsess, 29.4 was my fastest in the corsa. Think i got that gear box nailed for the best accel to speed ratio for these straight and corners. I feel there is more time to be had yet just gotta mess with tune a little bit more and try to find it to get me closerr to the 28s

Re: TORAus StockHatch Series 2 - lap times
Finally got down into the high 30's. Could shave a few tenths off with smoother corners.
Re: TORAus StockHatch Series 2 - lap times

I think worn tires will hurt the scions more than the nimbler cars. We'll see if they can maintain their pace during the race!

Re: TORAus StockHatch Series 2 - lap times
2:29.621 in the Scion, can probably stretch fuel out to 12 laps but tyres are a bit rough by lap 10.
I feel there's a bit more in it but I need to spend a bit more time tweaking to get into the 28's

I hit a 34.9 last night, though there should be more in it.
