Re: Sport Tire Challenge Series Discussion
For the record, we decided to open the section a few days earlier than the usual 2 weeks prior to round one as the broad car list and many build options can take more time than usual.
Re: Sport Tire Challenge Series Discussion
This looks rather fun.
Gotta get going with building cars.

Is changing builds between races going to be allowed?

Re: Sport Tire Challenge Series Discussion
Racers,
So I'm new to the site, and obviously the series. Was doing some testing and tuning last night, figured I'd start with he Nismo since no one else is running it. Since we don't know, and probably won't discuss each others lap times, just wanted a benchmark to shoot for. As far as Catalunya is concerned, is a 1:48.20 going to be competitive?

A 1:48.20x is around 12 seconds faster than most any laptime I'm aware of so...
I have to ask, are you running Catalunya Full? If not, that's the track you need to be testing.

Yes I am running the full GP circuit.
I guess that was a bad attempt at trying to be funny... haha I'm no where near that time, just wanted to see reactions. I'm closer to the 2:10.50 +/- 5sec Can't give all my secrets away. Still want to know what a competitive time is.

I'm in the 2:06 - 2:07 category in 4 different cars.
My biggest concern is the Start rules for the 2nd race.
"8.3.4 Each row of 2 cars must try to maintain approximately 100ft / 30m distance from the (pair of) cars ahead before they start racing.
8.3.5 As each row of 2 cars passes the Start/Finish line, they accelerate to race speed, and begin racing."
I have never been in a rolling start race where each pair of cars kept 100' of space and No pair of cars have waited till they were at the Start/Finish Line to start.
Usually when the "GO" signal has been given, all cars hit the pedal to the metal no matter where they are on the track.
What is the "Division Category" for these cars?

Re: Sport Tire Challenge Series Discussion
The "when you hit the line" rule has been used here at TORA in various series for a year now. It helps minimize the sort of wreckage that causes an endless cycle of restarts, and is the easiest to police as it doesn't allow for either jump starts or lag back and get a huge run type starts.
Division Category, here at TORA it would be considered "Production Touring Cars", in game, it covers a couple different bases including "Hot Hatch" and "Rally Day Heroes", and with the crossovers we cannot select that option in Lobby Settings.

I got it in the 1M. Other cars I've tried have been low 2.01's. Just gotta do a few laps and get used to the cars
Re: Sport Tire Challenge Series Discussion
I'm getting down closer to the 2:03.00 mark... Only thing I got going is I'm consistent with my laps. We're running the Nismo, trying to be different!

I did try that but the only reason I didn't go with it is cause I wasn't as consistent as I am in the 1M
Re: Sport Tire Challenge Series Discussion
Me and my partner haven't signed up yet; planning on it but I do have a question that I can't seem to find the answer in the rules. It says 8 British time, which is like 2:00 or 3:00 for us here, now with our work schedules (working nights) it is easier for us to run that; but I see there is a US thread and a UK thread. Are we able to race in the UK thread even though we are in the US? Just wanted some clarity, thanks!
