Trans Am General Discussion
Welcome to the 2018 TORA Trans Am Championship!
The return of an old favorite, this year's running features some changes including Spec Builds and a Super Sprint race format.
Previous running used open builds, and while they did provide close competition, the new builds with limited tuneable parts should see even a smaller gap in lap times up and down the grid. The new build rules are also based closely on the actual 1969 SCCA Trans Am Rulebook, which required far more stock and over the counter parts than later years cars were allowed to fabricate. Hoping that delivers a more authentic feel to the drive, while leveling the playing field and emphasizing driver skill over tuning.
Last season's series saw a 45-50 minute mini-enduro with a mandatory pit stop, but with the recurring pit glitches in Forza 7, we have seen lots of issues in races that involve pit stops. So, we have decided to forgo the longer races and pit stops via the twin super sprint format. The 20-25 minute races are still long enough for possible tire wear, however they are shorter than a full fuel or tire run, taking pit stops (and potential pit glitches) out of the equation. In each round, both sprint races will have the grids set via qualifying times, the fastest in each lobby starting on pole position while continuing the rolling starts.
That being said, let the banter begin!

Re: Trans Am General Discussion
Horrible driving at the back of A lobby tonight from Road America. I was run off the road multiple times and lost a chance to mix it up for P9. Really displeased.

Re: Trans Am General Discussion
Darkzer you can be disappointed all you want because you put yourself in those positions in turn 1 and 2 and whatever other incident you claim as you forced a 3 wide turn 1 and tried to occupy a spot where another car was and also turn 2 where you took an outside line and again turned down to occupy where another car was so self inflicted run offs dont get sympathy from me and next time you say bad driving dont forget about the dive bomb from a good distance and sideswipe the car you did it to or the [Censored] blocking i saw you doing to someone else. Its a game and you didnt finish well because you forced situations and lost. Big deal. You drive no better than most hoppers some times. So either improve or shut up and take your poor finish like most of us

Re: Trans Am General Discussion
Javelin was faster around most tracks and had the consistency to boot
it probably would be fine if it had a weakness of some kind but it was just strong everywhere
The results may not say how fast it was but it was quite a bit faster then the rest of the competition( about 3 tenths and consistent)
Mustang and 69 Trans am struggled for grip, they both should have an advantage at speed but the lack of grip kinda negated that advantage
Challenger has grip but why choose the Challenger when the 73 Trans am was a better grip car by a good margin (challenger lacked speed for grip it had)
Camaro 69 lacked compared to the 70 so a pick me up for it sounds like a great idea
Cuda, Camaro 70, and Trans Am 73 all were very similar pace in their respective fields, i could see why they stayed untouched
that's at least what i could see from my testing, tuning could do a fair amount if someone found some good numbers (probably will find only a few tenths and maybe consistency but for now, i'm not gonna hold my breath)

The Javelin always tends to be at the pointy end of the T/A field, it has more rear wing and it has 265 rear tires (thanks Forza for not putting 255's as an option on that car), so it's going to be quick regardless. The 245's would've killed the car, which I believe Mikey saw in BOP before the series began.
The Cuda slays on bigger tracks like Road America and Daytona. I ran one in a different league and it was fun to drive. 70 Camaro is always good, should be a gold standard car.
73 T/A doesn't have the top end but is a grip maniac. Challenger is the same way but not quite as grippy, and not quite as slow on the straights.
69 Camaro is a dog and there's hardly a thing you can do about it, it's never been fast on any Forza I've played apart from giving it like 10 extra PI, and even then it's still not great. It's one of those I'd have to grind to get a time I could do on my 2nd flyer in the 70 Camaro.
