Trans Am 2019 General Discussion
Welcome to Trans Am 2019!
One of TORA's longest continuous running series has returned for 2019, with an all new modern look. Given the immense popularity of SCCA's Trans Am 2 series, featuring modern muscle in the form of Mustangs, Camaros and Challengers with 550HP crate motors, TORA has brought the concept to Forza Motorsport 7 in the form of Trans Am 2019.
This seven round weekly series will use the Sprint/Feature format from GT-300, including the 50% inverted race 2 grid. To let these beasts fully flex their muscle, the series will visit the full layouts of seven iconic American circuits.
Please post any and all comments and questions here.

Really? I'll double check, but I know others have built from what the doc says it should be and this is the first I have heard of that.

If anyone has a tune for the Camaro, I'm struggling to find pace in it (or in any of the other cars for that matter).

Having to relearn Road America is a fun annual event, as I don't race there very often.

Re: Trans Am 2019 General Discussion
Just wondering but why doesn’t TORA just have one registration in a series instead of have three different regional registrations for said series? Why can’t there be one so there everyone is against each other instead of racing in regions because some don’t have that much which register. I’m not complaining but was wondering because other leagues don’t have it.

The Thursday night series has always been US-time zone dominant in terms of participation, at least for the last 3-4 years. Typical UK time slot (8pm BST) is too early for those that work a 9-5 in the US, and the typical US time slot (8 or 9pm EST) is too late for those in the UK on a normal work schedule. So, they have both series so everyone can participate. Now they have an AU/NZ friendly time slot so those drivers finally don't race at odd hours in the morning.
If it were a weekend series they'd run it in that UK slot as most people would make it from both sides of the pond.

I'll further on Diablo's response with a bit of history. When I started racing at TORA in 2012, the only US weeknight series was NATCC, with 12 entries and 6-8 that showed up every week. Then when I joined staff in 2014, I brought up expanding TORA's US invovement with Touring Masters, which saw double those numbers, and two full lobbies each round. By 2016, US series were more populated than the European counterpart much of the time.
For Mighty Mites, we added a third region in Asia/Australia time. While smaller than either America or Europe in numbers for that series, it still had bigger grids than the NATCC did back in 2012. And we see that region as potential growth, and have committed marshals running it for us, so why not let them have something in their time?

Re: Trans Am 2019 General Discussion
I do see what Spector is saying - it'd be great if everyone from all 3 regions raced together, to make things more competitive. However, that'd require the series to run on a weekend so that everyone could be "reasonably" accommodated for a start time. TORA runs 3-4 times more series than most leagues, so the total calendar is far more crowded. That and, the regional series normally run 2 or 3 full lobbies (Australia tends to be just the 1, but that's super new and will grow in time). That's sustainable. If you combine them all together, you require more staff at the time of, then you can have delays... there are pros and cons.
Could be a shout to do an "all-star" race for the top 8 or so from each region on a weekend sometime but the regional setup has worked very well the last few years. No other series I've participated in recently can do a complete race night (10-15 min qual, 30-45 min racing) in less than 90 minutes across 3 lobbies. These guys can.

Unexpected plot twist for Trans Am 2019: No Tire Walls.
With the new Forza Racing Regulations "Collisions" penalty system in the recent update, we are finally able to remove the "corner cutting" tire walls that have plagued Forza Motorsport 7 since launch.

I love the idea of an all-star race, it would be a lot of fun to see how the winners of each region would compare. Good content to stream too!

Great idea, and has been brought to staff's attention.
