Daytona Drivers of the Day!

We survived another 24 Hours of Daytona! Much thanks to all staff, marshals, and community members that helped us to keep things running smoothly (mostly). Now that we've all gotten a chance to sleep, let's take a look back at the race!

Shout-out to SFM Team Slow, who earned a top 10! They kept it clean for 24 hours, with only 1 disconnect. Super proud of Team Slow for their 2nd top 10 in a 24 hour race. SFM Cowmaster, kiwichris1709, and Corey CC97.

Did somebody manage to recover from a setback?

There were numerous drivers in A lobby in GT that suffered terminal damage just after the line, having to crawl around at 30mph or less. DOR Spartanfit, TUS Turismo, SVR Sparx, and whoever else, you earned my respect and that of the community for not giving in.

Did another team impress you?

Japspeed Racing GTO ran a flawless race, only losing I think 1 stint. Well done to JSR! I personally had a super long 5-way battle with TUS Turismo, BDR Andromeda, SSR Wolfpack, and HCR Grizzly in stint 7. We were trading places, swapping paint, and generally having a good time for the better part of 40 minutes. Absolutely perfect racing.

Somebody in your lobby do something that earned your praise?

LZR ForceOne and Aerox Vettel were super respectful while passing GT cars in stint 7. While the leading pack of 3 was bumper to bumper, they didn't force any GTO car that I saw into a poor spot, which was appreciated.

Also, thank you to the drivers in stint 12 for bearing with me at the start, I was battling fatigue and nausea setting it up, was a miserable time. Worst I've ever felt during a stint, then the game crashed anyway.

All in all, I really enjoyed this event. Driving, streaming, organizing, it was really, really fun. The community was generally helpful, with many drivers offering to collect data and track results. This is also the single largest TORA event EVER, with north of 245 drivers starting a stint, all cars qualifying, and all cars starting the race.

That 5 way battle was insane, I wish Forza collision physics didn't bring it to an end with my incident with Andromeda:( I have a feeling it would have gone the whole stint except w the Aerox car in the mix making it a 6 way battle! great racing nevertheless.

MOSTW4NT3D 46 stepped up to the plate and smashed it out of the park in the early stints for us in the Fourth Row Motorsports #62 Cougar!
Did somebody step in last minute and deliver the goods for you?
Sir Waters Brung in an amazing double stint, MOSTW4NT3D came in clutch with a triple too!
Did somebody manage to recover from a setback?
MOSTW4NT3D 46 & TheStraight6kid pulled back the distance after an early pit timing mistake by 6kid.
Did another team impress you?
The Guys in FujiwaraTofu’s car and the guys in Broomske’s car did amazing all race
Somebody in your lobby do something that earned your praise?
In my stint, All the GTO Guys came in with some amazing laughs that I could’ve made even Darkzer laugh, even if they were mostly not repeatable!

Did a driver among your team exceed your expectations?

X2Lazy2WinX has been a long time NASCAR and Formula One league competitor and I was not expecting speed and amazing passes from him during his stints. I didn't think he would be a good driver for Smithfield Racing and he greatly exceeded our expectation! Not only him, our other two teammates, Karma MJO and demonsavior510 (both making their first TORA starts ever during the event btw AND long time Xbox league friends) also showed great consistency and strength. If it wasn't for them, we wouldn't have finished 11th out of 34 GTO cars in the final standings, which topped our expectations greatly!

Did somebody step in last minute and deliver the goods for you?

X2Lazy2WinX and Karma MJO both ran double stints during the event and they performed very well during them. Full credit to them for racing a total of 4 hours straight!

Did somebody manage to recover from a setback?

That would have to be me. We averaged out around 203ish miles per driver. Lazy and demon had some below average stints before the event ended, so I had to drive my butt off in the final stint to make up ground. I pulled the team best of 207.70 miles during the last stint, after staying up all night and feeling very exhausted, which helped make up ground in the standings.

Did another team impress you?

Loved racing with the Fujiwara guys throughout the event, as well as Roscoe and anyone else who I happened to be on the same pace with in C Lobby.

Somebody in your lobby do something that earned your praise?

Everyone in Stint 12, C Lobby drove a heck of a race. There were awesome battles and racing and was very surprised of the outcome so early in the morning and so far into the 24 hour event. That lobby was a great way to cap off my first TORA 24 hour event and I will never forget it!

Did a driver among your team exceed your expectations?

LMP Mischief drove a hell of a race for it being his first 24hrs of Daytona, he redeemed himself from his past mistakes and the rest of us at LMP are proud of him and can't wait for him to keep growing as a racer.

Did somebody step in last minute and deliver the goods for you?

V12 Snowballz stepped in the Wednesday before the race to double stint 3&4, ended up winning both stints. We thank him for his service and hope to race with him again soon.

Did somebody manage to recover from a setback?

Myself and Snowballz both suffered damage due to accidents and had to pit early from the lead of c lobby, but we each managed to take back the lead in the end.

Did another team impress you?

HCCR 2 and CRA Koyo gave our team some good battles throughout the race.

Somebody in your lobby do something that earned your praise?

SHR Matt10 decided to do some sound effects as GTPs went by him in stint 12, it was very entertaining for everyone and I had the honor of being the last car to pass him before the end of the race.

nnnyyyyyyyooooooooooooommmmmm XD That was a lot of fun in Stint 12. Everyone raced with their heads screwed on correctly and we had a fun time doing it! Can't wait for the next endurance race!
