For those asking about replays for Race 1 and 2 for Suzuka C lobby. I've shared them search my GT or Tora GT300 R1 or R2.

Re: GT-300 Banter
After two rounds, it has become apparent the field is not as balanced as we'd have hoped for. So, effective immediately, the following PI changes are in effect:
Alfa/Fiat/Prowler 628
BMW/MX5/Solstice 625
RX8/Nissan 620
BRZ 617
S2000 613
Alfa/Fiat/Prowler 628
BMW/MX5/Solstice 625
RX8/Nissan 620
BRZ 617
S2000 613

Sorry to be 'that guy', but the S200 is listed at 613 in the car build thread.
To avoid confusion, which one is the typo?
Edit: There's another difference too, the BMW is listed as 625, which is a big difference to the 620 here.

The Car Build thread is correct.
Re: GT-300 Banter
Good racing today guys. C lobby races are shared as TORA GT300 C R1 or R2 depending which you need. I think those who needed replays were able to save them, but just in case.

Re: GT-300 Banter
Thanks for the good racing b lobby guys. I didn't race well in the 2nd part but I had fun.
Re: GT-300 Banter
B Lobby US Race 1 was some of the most fun I have ever had. A four car scrum at the back for the whole race.
Re: GT-300 Banter
So are we ignoring that the 7 PI taken from the S2K did next to nothing to balance the car against the field?

Re: GT-300 Banter
The 7 PI didn't do as much to slow the car down as Mikey was hoping for. The build run at 613 is hardly different than at 620/618. If a further BOP change is implemented, I wouldn't be surprised.
I do also want to point out that a majority of the pointy end of the field is in the S2000, which does skew the results of a BOP shift.
I shared a supercharged build of the RX8 for the Ax4x guys (or whomever wanted it) and after 5 laps I netted a 1:33.4xx at Laguna, and from what I understand the naturally-aspirated build was even quicker. Point being, it was very close to being on pace as the S2000 at Laguna. I can't speak for the other rounds as I've not tested on them, nor am I involved in BOP for this series. Prowler and Z3 are just not good, that I do know.

Nope, I think everyone is well aware. That being said, there's a few FRC caliber drivers in the S2000, which would skew things a bit.
I'd hate to resort to using buckets, but I'd say a 10-15% Power and 20-30% Grip reduction would do the trick
Re: GT-300 Banter
Well as long as things are considered. I don’t mean to say the RX8 is being driven at the limit by me. But even Diablo only managed 1:33.4 vs 1:32.x in the S2k so still multiple tenths off the pace.
I just feel like even though the RX8 can lap fairly competitively, the S2K is just that much more consistent to drive. And as far as the NA s/c versions of the RX8 go... no I don’t think the na build is as quick, I’ve built that thing 100 different ways by now. I’ve found no more pace.

I'm waiting for the S2k to get nerfed too hard, become a non-viable option, and 99%of the field switches to the second fastest car and the problem continues.

Even putting the S2k in B class, will be doing the same times.

Yeah but even that data is skewed because I'd only tuned/driven the car in the period of about 20 minutes, so it was by no means a "hardened" tune, the build was sound though. My S2000 has a few weeks worth of time driven between the races and practicing done. Would the RX8 be on the exact same level as the S2000 if given the same amount of time? No probably not but it'd be probably a couple tenths rather than 1/2 a second. I'd have to disagree on ease of driving the RX8 vs S2000- both require you to extract the pace out of the cars by wringing them until they have nothing left to give, and the narrower track of the S2000 punishes you if you make mistake more so than the higher weight of the RX8.
At this point, Mikey can use this data to rework the BOP for the next series. I think apart from the S2000 being the widely selected choice and the Prowler being woefully bad, the series has been a hit.

I'd just like to see what I can do in a properly setup S2000 to see what I am leaving on the table. Spec Series anyone?

This. Very much this.
Did I try every possible build before the series started? Nope, missed a couple things on the S2K, and it was the two parts that make it as good as it is. Wish I had tried the supercharger and race trans, as it would have changed things considerably.
Did I think this series would be as big as it is? Again, not quite. I had a gut feeling that it could be as popular as the Iron series, but no idea it would be more than twice as popular on the European side of TORA.
Will there be a season two next year? Oh hell yeah there will be. And unlike this year where I went in on blind faith, there's tons of data to work with for next year's car list and build options. I can guarantee the testing will be much more thorough, with a bit more balance.

Re: GT-300 Banter
Does anyone know if the Lime Rock course is the standard course, or is it one with chicanes?
Re: GT-300 Banter
The BMW is ok apart from being a little bit on the heavy side but there's not really any way to make it the 150lbs lighter it needs to be.
That extra weight really hurts the car's ability to carry corner speed but it is able to punch out of corners quite nicely.
I've managed a couple of high 54s in practise for this week when pushing it to my limits so a low 55 in qualifying should hopefully put me around the midfield for tomorrow. I was running 2nd, 3rd, 4th but after some tweaking have found 3rd, 4th, 5th to give me slightly better laptimes this week with less of a power drop as you climb the hill at the sector split.
Not saying it's any good but I've got this weeks tune shared if anyone wants to see how the BMW compares.
