British GT eSports Championship 2019 - Meeting 3 - Silverstone
British GT eSport Champtionship 2019: Meeting 3 - Silverstone
Welcome to the 3rd meeting of the 2019 Season of the British GT eSport Championship! For this round, we are finally headed to the UK to the Silverstone Grand Prix Circuit. Silverstone is of course one of the premiere places to race in the UK, and is the first track we will visit that is on the real-life British GT calendar. Born out of an old RAF base, Silverstone has been a stable of most UK-based motoring events since 1947.Qualifying - Qualifying for BGT will be a timed session lasting 15 minutes. Once 15 minutes has expired, racers will finish the lap that they are currently on before stopping on the back straight. The pits will be open the entire 15 minutes for pit stops. Drivers that fail to complete a clean lap time will have their fastest dirty lap time will be recorded and placed lower than the slowest clean lap times. Remember that drivers should be/appear online 15 minutes prior to qualifying start, and should keep in-party chat to a minimal.
Race - Both races will consist of 30 racing laps (1 out lap + 30 racing laps + 1 extra for results collection) for a total of 32 laps. Drivers are expected to be familiar with the rules and regulations come race time.
Pit Stops - There are 2 mandatory pit stops during the race. The pit lane will be opened after the second racing lap and will be closed two laps prior to the finish. Drivers are reminded to respect the limitations of the pit lane, and to adhere to the painted pit in and out lanes. Failure to do so here on out will result in a penalty.
Starting Procedure - The race will start with a typical 80 mph 2x2 Rolling Start towards the end of the warm-up lap. Remember that each row of 2 cars are not to accelerate to race pace until THEY pass the Start/Finish line.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Silverstone a one hour enduro?

Yep, you’re right, it’s listed as a single race on the calendar anyway.

Yes it's the 1 hour enduro.
We will not be using FRR for this round.

Re: British GT eSports Championship 2019 - Meeting 3 - Silverstone
I would like to apologize for my poor driving in this round. I've made a horribe mess about it for both my competitors and for the GT4 field. Especially for Neverblade - I couldn't do anything about it, Forza physics got us - and S133py - I couldn't decide which way you were going and then your braking point came.
I am truly sorry.
I am truly sorry.

Two words come to mind regarding the instructions that were given in that lobby... 5*hit show!
Re: British GT eSports Championship 2019 - Meeting 3 - Silverstone
I love the fact that those of us who actually listened to our LOBBY HOST are being punished and losing positions. My view of TORA is already shaky lately, but this absolutely takes the cake. We need answers pretty quick. I lost 2 positions FOR FOLLOWING THE HOSTS INSTRUCTIONS.

We are discussing that. Stay tuned.
Re: British GT eSports Championship 2019 - Meeting 3 - Silverstone
[I will write a proper post after I am home from work]
I am disappointed with this. Why have two party hosts given different end procedures? I followed the TORA rules and my party host to stop on the 1st corner on the 32nd lap. If anything, I should not be penalised for this.
(Also, I could not join my proper host jenson09 due to a multitude of issues that I will explain later. It was agreed on the night that I could join the other party (I cannot remember the host name now) in order to keep voice comms.)

Lobby 5 was an interesting one. From the start right till after the finish of the race.
I hope the team learns from this and that we will avoid this from happening again.

Couldn't agree more. Now no matter what happens, people are being punished for the mistakes of TORA staff. Its just not fair and another nail in the coffin.Freheliaz wrote:Lobby 5 was an interesting one. From the start right till after the finish of the race.

Moving forward, in future rounds there should be a line added to the rules that states GT3 only lobbies should race to the end of the race instead of stopping in T1 since it is unnecessary without GT4 cars.

Re: British GT eSports Championship 2019 - Meeting 3 - Silverstone
I would say we all do the same thing. No matter if theres GT3 or GT4 only in a lobby.
Cause it would cause more confusion then all to do the same no matter what lobby you're in.

Re: British GT eSports Championship 2019 - Meeting 3 - Silverstone
Usually its the bottom lobby that is all GT3... Bottom lobby = No Stopping.... pretty easy to remember. But whatever works at this point. This entire fiasco has really turned me off racing here, which is extremely sad. This was my favorite series. I'm not even saying that to be mean, I am genuinely disappointed.Freheliaz wrote:I would say we all do the same thing. No matter if theres GT3 or GT4 only in a lobby.
