I think that there should be a points penalty for mid season car changes in keeping with other TORA series.

Post by Slider S15 Tue 7 Jul 2009 - 19:14

I believe that there should be a points deduction of between 10 and 15 points per car change.

This is leanient compared to other TORA series where ALL points would be deducted for a car change mid season.

Rulebook Clarification and FAQ - Page 2 Empty Re: Rulebook Clarification and FAQ

Post by Slider S15 Wed 8 Jul 2009 - 9:04

ok what are we doing about the rules on car change??

I say penalty of 10 points for the first and 15 for a subsequent change.

If there are no other suggestions for car change rules can this be added to the rules and implemented at this round upon those who have changed since round 1.

Rulebook Clarification and FAQ - Page 2 Empty Re: Rulebook Clarification and FAQ

Post by racelegend MB1 Wed 8 Jul 2009 - 9:18

wo, hang on. this wasnt in the original rules, i have just changed because i couldnt run my original choice cos it wasnt ready and it was 'allowed' in the rules. sbiggs only ran what he ran because he needed a car so i sent it to him. We just wanted to race.

biggs deserves a car change, because infact he never chose a car in the first place.

you cant keep changing the rules part way through an event. What about all the changes that were made from people before meeting one. I know that several people said one car then last minuite changed to another.

Rulebook Clarification and FAQ - Page 2 Empty Re: Rulebook Clarification and FAQ

Post by Slider S15 Wed 8 Jul 2009 - 10:24

i never said that was final it was just a suggestion

what im basically trying to do is stop someone from building a different "specialised" car for every meeting.

i only pushed to get a reaction because i am getting NO feedback in trying to sort rules for car changes.

it was always assumed people would choose the car they were going to use and not use an interim car therefore it was never written into the origional rules.

the rules were not being rewritten. They were being corrected against a situation which was not anticipated and i felt that guidelines were needed to stop the previously mentioned situation from occouring.

So....

ARE THERE ANY SUGGESTIONS FOR CAR CHANGE RULES???

Rulebook Clarification and FAQ - Page 2 Empty Re: Rulebook Clarification and FAQ

Post by racelegend MB1 Wed 8 Jul 2009 - 11:25

na thats fair slider, i wasnt trying to cause an 'issue' i was just suggesting that we should definately come up with another.

mt suggestion is that you have to run a car for atleast 2 of the meetings, this allows a competitive car to be built, based on meeting one results and reduce the number of changes.

My only problem i can foresee is that it is only a 3 meeting event...

theres an idea - see what u think and build upon it. I just feel it seems fair for those who arent competitive atm and stops the situation you have mentioned.

sorry if u took my first comment as forceful. i just needed to express my view Razz

Rulebook Clarification and FAQ - Page 2 Empty Re: Rulebook Clarification and FAQ

Post by Slider S15 Wed 8 Jul 2009 - 11:46

No worries i understand that you need to protect your interests in the championship as a driver and felt persecuted against.

I agree that only one change should be allowed within the championship.

however i still feel that a SMALL points penalty should be used aswell to still discourage any car changes at all and encourage this to be a tuner event and have solutions to problems found through tuning.

I would say only one car change allowed and a 5 point penalty for that one change.

Any responses?

Rulebook Clarification and FAQ - Page 2 Empty Re: Rulebook Clarification and FAQ

Post by racelegend MB1 Wed 8 Jul 2009 - 11:56

i suppose 5 points is fair enough. its difficult to jusdge when it is such a short series. Maybe there should be some sort of discussion over wether a change should be allowed, based on scoring in the last round, general speed of the current car etc. That way, you dont get quick guys car changing from track to track and those that are off the pace and therefore arent really impacting on the series. At the end of the day we want a close, fair and enjoyable series. It is not one of the main ones so lets be a little more relaxed about it.

Rulebook Clarification and FAQ - Page 2 Empty Re: Rulebook Clarification and FAQ

Post by Slider S15 Wed 8 Jul 2009 - 12:56

Well its not a change its more of an addition to the rules to preside over an unforseen problem previously not coverd by the rules.

im happy with the one car change allowed only with a 5 point penalty imposed upon that change. And it appears you are too.

any other opinions will be welcomed but if there are no objections i will try and get it legalised for tomorow.

Rulebook Clarification and FAQ - Page 2 Empty Re: Rulebook Clarification and FAQ

Post by ckBrenneke Tue 14 Jul 2009 - 9:17

The legality of the Mugen Integra as a permitted car in this championship has been called into question by a number of entrants, as it is simply NOT a production vehicle. It is a tuned version of a production vehicle. Therefore, it is not a legal vehicle as declared by the rules.

However, with some entrants having already run this car, and with only one meeting remaining on the calendar, it would be grossly unfair to those having already competed. Therefore no action will be taken. In future, we will clarify this rule in order that there is no repeat of this misunderstanding.
