Following the unfortunate retirement of Nicky from the LMP1 class of the TORA LMS series the organisers found themselves with a gap in the top class and a race against time to fill the void left in this highly competitive and high stakes category of just four participants.

Luckily Audi Sport Japan Team GOH were happy to step in at short notice and field a car that they felt was capable of breaching the top three. Former GT1 Williams GT1 Maserati driver Crisis Nine was then approached for a seat on the team and he grasped the opportunity with both hands. As such Crisis Nine will be competing in the LMP1 class as of next week's second round meeting at the historic Silverstone Grand Prix circuit.

Crisis Nine had this to say:

"When I heard of a drive being available in the LMP1 class I immediately wanted to make it mine. Then when Team GOH approached me with their car I knew that the decision just had to be made. I've been lucky enough to get my hands on an early version of the car and took it for a few test laps and early indications are that this will be a competitve ride. I am aiming for some podium finishes right away starting next week at Silverstone. The one thing that I noticed after the first meeting was that the key to success in this class is consistency, with the cars being so quick and light one mistake can cost you a race and I am working hard with the engineers to get a good, solid tune for the car which will see me secure the top positions in this class."

Yeah im really looking forward to it. I was a bit gutted at first coz im gona miss the battles with the GT cars but LMP1 is really where i want to be. The cars are a real joy to drive.

Audi Sport Japan Team GOH Pulls Out!

After several testing sessions with new driver Crisis Nine for the upcoming second round of the TORA LMS series both team and driver felt it best to part company with faltering lap times thought to be the main reason behind the split.

Crisis Nine commented:

"I was pushing that car to the limit and although it was a real dream to drive in its just not getting close to the performance of my rivals in the more modern R10s and 908s."

As a result Crisis Nine has now chosen to compete in the newly formed Bentley racing team Motorsport P1 and will be piloting a Bentley Speed 8.
