TORA Le Mans Lap Times

they said in the podcast there would still be a 10 minute qually

i kno, right Gashi? :-\ for a track as large as 'The Nur' i would alter the rules just a tad..... 10 minutes might just get you 2 laps in GT1.... a standing start, and one Flying Lap. as Butcher said, ultimate test in consentration. the qualifying and the race. :-\ i would like it if the race itself was longer than 1.5 hrs as well because of the larger track. the other night while i testing my Z06, i was on Lap 7 when the lap timer hit 45minutes... (was testing my fuel stradegy)

Im hitting around 7:10's pretty consistently now thanks to some help. I don't have an exact time, cause I end up screwing up somewhere which really annoys me. Im still unsure about times, but ill be on eventually to try everything out.

Theres a bit more to come from the koeniggsegg but I've managed a 7:07.xxx after one lap!

I think consistancy will pay off here. The qualifying will be key. I am going to try and hit 7:27.xxx on lap one and then go for broke for lap 2. Will they allow us to go backwards at the start of lap one? I think that is against the law if I remember correctly but bending that rule here might be nice. Just an idea.

i dont think they will allow that but u gotta think we get 2 do another lap if we make it just before the 10 minute barrier

yeah. im thinking we only get GTC type qualifying, just cause of the length of the track. one Standing start lap, and a Flying Lap. thats why i was hoping for an extended qualifying session

well it wud be great if they made it to like 25-30 mins and then people cud get 3-4 laps in

yeah i agree. start half hour earlier to accomodate it. 1 flying lap would be pony

No one complained about 1 flying lap in the GTC, it just makes you have to focus for that one lap

but this isnt the gtc and at no other track in this series have you had to do one lap...

best solution would be to reverse off the start line. then have 2 laps. drivers set of 30 secs apart with collisions off.

thats actually how i would hope for... we back up to the bridge at 'final corner exit', line up, and then go from there...

As we said in this week's podcast, there will be no change to the qualifying format.

Lap 1 will be your banker lap.
Lap 2 will be your 'oh s*** i messed up my 1st lap, i'll need to do another banker' lap.
OR will be your 'right that was solid, now lets really go for it... kamikaze!!! lap.

so can we reverse off the grid then?

Reversing off the grid would be really great. It wouldn't extend the qualifying session and would allow each driver 2 chances at a good lap no matter what class they are driving in. I am ok with the one hot lap qualifying session as it will most likely get me a better spot on the grid

I've got the car hooked up nicely here around my favourite track!

Nurburg is one of my most favorite tracks as well Dan. im glad im running quick times, but im a little conserned if i can hit that time lap after lap after lap at the 13 mile monster.
