Re: The awsomeness of Group A
Wow that is awesome, I honestly had no idea that they raced on the streets like that. Looks like the V8s or DTM or something. I'm sure my dad had that season on video somewhere, I know what I'm watching tomorrow
Re: The awsomeness of Group A
Yeah i always heard about this stuff but i never saw it before. The Monaco of the Midlands lol! Its a shame that Sunday shopping hours would prevent anything like this stuff happening around the streets of Brum again.

Re: The awsomeness of Group A
They should do a city race around The New Forest or even Chandlers Ford, other then that thanks for showing the video.
Re: The awsomeness of Group A
They can do one around Falkirk and leave the roads open, that would by amazing
Re: The awsomeness of Group A
Another good location would be the Isle of Man or some Welsh Countryside Roads.

I actualy posted this to show whats wrong with touring car racing these days, it used to be about RWD, 400-500hp Class A cars with the 2 Litre Class B cars, which would eventualy evolve into supertouring.
So, a clear message to the FIA, Alan Gow, and those Swedish punters, give us some good rules!

Re: The awsomeness of Group A
Group A was the 80's equivelant of todays S2000. Group A was used all over the world, in the ETCC, ATCC (Australia), DRM (Deutche Rennen Masterschaft... IIRC, soon to become DTM) and BTCC. Group A had two divisions, Class A and Class B, in the BTCC Class B would run on its own from 1991 to 1994 (Like in the video above) evolve into Supertouring. DTM switched to Class A only, but allowed more aerodynamics in the mid nineties, which led to the 4WD, V6 F1-cars-on-wheels! In Australia, they adopted a 5ltr Touring Formula, now known as V8 Supercars.
