Wheel Vs Controller

It'll be the Race Pro Playseat for me very soon.
Looking to nab myself either the new Porsche 911 GT2 Clubsport wheel or the Thurstmaster T500RS

Gt5 - Wheel for the win, do not use a ps3 pad you have been warned
GTR2 / R factor - Wheel for the win or xbox 360 plug in
Xbox - Well unless I spend lots £ or $ standard controler for the win (unless any 1 has a fanetic wheel going spare??)

With the T500RS, enjoy playing nothing but GT5, because thats the only game it works with at the moment

It does have very nice paddles that don't turn with the wheel, kinda like WRC style paddles, and the wheel itself is of a bery large diameter and has no deadzone. The Pedals can be inverted too which just looks awesome

If I had any cash to my name, i'd be on that 911 GT2 straight away, but i'm a tight arse student and have no way of justifying buying anything like that.

The MS Wheel does me fine for this reason alone Can't wait to try out Shift 2, Dirt 3 and NASCAR '11 this year.

I've often thought about a wheel.. can i ask what sort of set-ups people have got?
I use the living room LCD TV, so i'm on the couch when racing, how are you guys set-up with your wheels?

how do you play it with the wheel that close?

TV could be bigger but does the job.

I usually lean forward too!!!!

I have a wee table I could use, might set it up and see how it feels!

Still using the pad, I've thought about getting a wheel but the only one I want is the Fanatec but then I don't want a wheel without a proper seat. Maybe later in the year I'll buy them but for now I'm not willing to spend the money on something I may not use that often.

Seat envy... Next question which wheels work with the 360?

M$ Wireless wheel. But has been discontinued. DO NOT BUY A USED ONE!

Fanatec Porsche GT2 Wheel. PC/PS3/XBOX360 very expensive

Madcatz MC2 cheap, no force feed back but rumbles/vibrates

Madcatz xbox360 wireless racing wheel (new) no force feed back but large and sturdy. Spring resistant so bounces back to center.

New TVR Wheel by italian design (DONT GET IT, very badly built)

Logitech DriveFX's have been discontinued, but if you can get a second hand one thats in decent nick, they are meant to be very well made and very good (dispite not having full FFB)

i've often considered tearing off the wheel on the M$ one and buying a proper big diameter wheel and plugging all the buttons into it though, I also have an idea in my mind for a shifter you could clip onto it, but lack of time, money and materials has stopped me doing both
