Re: Spa loses it's License
OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! that curcuit is the second home of motorsprort (after silverstone) and a pilgrimage for die hard fans!!!!
The circruit has been there for decades and way before the houses were built! I hate these eco-buming-do-gooders and wish they would just piss off! Look at the time and effort they are wasting, first they wanted our cars now they want our circuits! If the worst they can come up with is noise pollution then these belgish buggers should stop spending money on campainging and spend it on double glazing, and stop bothering us motorsport fans.
A world would be a better place without these eco-ists who have fallen for such capitalist garbage about global warming! Go bak to hugging a tree and leave us alone.
WHERE WILL IT END!!!!

Re: Spa loses it's License
Right. Time for a rant.
Firstly..
I hate these people, that move next to race tracks, then complain because its too ''noisy'' in there lovely little new home that they actualy KNEW was next to a track.
Secondly..
F1 is ruining the sport we love, I dont care what people say, but it is, is it a coincedence that this happens just after South Korea is announced? The FIA said that Spa was too ''unsafe'' for F1 a few years back, as if F1 is deadly, and drivers are dying left right and centre, the only danger is the open cockpit these days, like the Surtees incident and Massa a week later. Anyway, mass building work took place at Spa, which probably annoyed the locals too. Now apparantly, F1 cars are the most dangerous cars in the world, they need acres and acres of tarmac run off, 40-50 meter wide tracks and ''good looking'' buildings with such gimicks as hotels hanging over tracks etc.. This has forced such tracks as Silverstone, Spa, even Monaco to install tight mickey mose sections with tarmac car-parks round the outsides and insides of the track. Think how much Crude oil it takes to make the Bitchumen required to make that asphalt, how nice and eco-friendly FIA does that sound?! All the classics are either being modified and losing their soul (Spa Francorchamps is a shadow of what it was just 8 years ago, and look at Hockenheim) or being taken off the Calendar (stand up Imola) Or, even worse, being modified into a horrible circuit, then being struck off the calendar in favour of a horrible Tilke-Ring, and Tilke rings make up most of todays Calendar (Bahrain, Istanbul, the new Hockenheim, Shanghai, Valencia and the HIDEOUS looking Abu-Dhabi to name a few). I dont care where a race is held, I dont care if its in the middle of the Bloody midlands! A race track has to be desireable to race on, capture the imagination and make people fall in love with not only the cars, but the magical roads they drive on.
Mabey this is for the best, mabey F1 has been a bad influence on the circuit, mabey in the future it will change, but look at the moment, F1 is killing the sport.
So are these Nimby's...

THEY DONT KNOW WHAT THEYRE DOING! SPA IS IN MY OPINION ONE OF THE GREATEST CIRCUITS IN THE WORLD AND THERE IS SO MUCH TRADITON THERE IS NO WAY THEY CAN CLOSE IT! IF YOUD DONT LIKE THE NOISE, YOU SHOULDNT'VE MOVED IN NEXT TO A RACE TRACK!

Re: Spa loses it's License
Don't forget about Belgium Chocolate, other then that. I would of thought groups, that want less noise would understand the following about Motorsport:BrnoutJerzey wrote:are they f_cking high? Nobody cares about their sh*ty little country, just Spa
*Helps the economy.
*Helps towards improving engeering on the whole.
*Great day out for the family and many other people.
*Gives people more memories and stories to tell.
Also they should know most race circuits are in area's, where sound can dispuse over time or over a certain distance. Because it is not like, a single race will happen all year round.
However if these groups want to sort out something, then their are better stuff to sort out:
*Stopping War on the whole.
*Solving World Hunger
Allowing Human Kind to move forward, so the Human species can last a long time. Via making sure the planet does not go bad on the whole, allowing the Human species to move onto other plannets in the far future and making sure Human lives can extend even further.
And many more things. Other then that, if these groups want to stop some form of high lose levels. Then they should focus on the following:
*Getting rid of the dreadful music.
*Sorting out the boy racers.
Re: Spa loses it's License
This is a problem were having over here too and i just have this to say on the matter...
If you dont like the noise of cars, DONT BUY A HOUSE NEAR A SODDING RACE TRACK!!!!!
Most of the people that complain are people that have moved in after the track (definately the case with Spa since its older than most people!)
I dont go to annother country and complain that nobody is speaking English, Because thats how its always been since way before i got there!!
A Banger track near me did an experiment where they got lotys of the local drivers to drive to the track with their bangers on the trucks and then just park up in the pits and do nothing, Sure enough the Residents called the police and complained about the noise coming from the track, WHICH WAS SITTING IN COMPLETE SILENCE WITH NO CARS RACING ROUND IT WHAT SO EVER!!!!!
People need to stop going to a place and then trying to change it because they dont like it. If you dont like it, DONT GO THERE IN THE FIRST PLACE!!
Ok.... Rant over.... i think....

Well I do, largely due to them producing some of the finest beers known to humanity. Other than that Brussels is the politcal centre of Europe as its home to the EU. Its also where NATO is based. No-one important then.
