Re: F1 2010
Apologies for the news in spanish but here's how Ferrari are operating their version of the F-Duct.... watch Alonso's left hand.
Re: F1 2010
I burst out laughing when someone approached the last chicane during qualy, Legard said in his commentary 'down the hill, round the corner." My girlfriend just stared at me as I went into hysterics!

Re: F1 2010
He did it during the race too! Lap 1!
And Alonso changes the brake bias into the same corner again while using the F-Duct
I tell ya what, i'm loving the F1 cars this year, ALOT of great engineering solutions going on all over the grid. Especially with the Merc ''Stealth Bomber''.

Wow, hamiltons front left exploded!
That shot there reminded me of Hakkinen's departure from the 1999 Italian Grand Prix bar slamming his golves off the ground.

Re: F1 2010
Q1 is going to make some good viewing...I don't envy the position Chandhok/Senna are in at all. With a bit of rain and a few big names towards the back of the grid on Sunday we could be in for a very good race.

Re: F1 2010
I'm very impressed with Kubica! He really did miss out on the win in the wet race back in 2008 (or was it 2007?)

Re: F1 2010
Okay, had another little meeting yesterday and some news has come out, i will post all my F1 stuff here, some of it is a little 'xtrac related' but some of you may find some of the rumours interesting.
Firstly the three new teams, wurth (virgin) have admitted that the gearbox issues are to do with their own 'in house' maincase and have no bearing on the parts manufactured by xtrac, whereas lotus and HRT are 'pleased' with the gearbox itself and can see greater improvement in the differential and similar systems, but admit that the hydraulics are a dissapointment, yet are encourage by the imporvements made. Lotus are looking to develop their own 'carbon composite' maincase for 2011 and maintain xtrac as an internals and driveline supplier. HRT and Virgin are yet to make a comitement to 2011 as many of you will be aware.
In future speculation i have news regarding engines and KERS. Whilst the FIA have yet made no hardened decisions they are looking like they will follow with this following specification, it is a sad day for F1 fans world wide:
1.6L, 4 Cylinder engines developing 550BHP, with a 150BHP 'KERS' boost system.
YES! that is a 1.6L 4 cylinder, its all part of the FIA's new 'World motorsport engine' programe, where all fia series will run the basic format of engine as part of the new age of motorsport. the F1 unit will share many similarities with that found on a WRC or Touring car, original plans were to go turbocharged as well as KERS, and although it is still and option KERS alone is looking likely. The new engine size will come into effect in 2013/2014.
Talking of KERS, cosworth have suspended their 2010 engine programme and are focusing efforts on the 2011 and new generaton engines as well as their own KERS system, which xtrac are looking to play a big part in along with the engine programme.
Williams have strengthened links with xtrac as they look to rely on the company for more of their parts.
STR are looking to move their torsion spring development away from xtrac, in preferance for a 'carbon composite' option, whilst renault are extending their 'titanium' torsion project with xtrac.
Aside the technical gumf, it is looking like HRT will struggle to reach season end as many have read elsewhere and Virgin are struggling for major sponsorship to be able to comit to 2011. Other than that the other teams are looking confident moving forward. No news on stefan GP yet though, i will report as soon as i am aware.

Re: F1 2010
You'd think Virgin would have the bucks to carry on. Mind you if the team can't build a car with a big enough tank.... doesn't exactly inspire confidence do it!
Re: F1 2010
well branson is a buisness man foremost, why save a sinkng ship. and i think the whole wurth thing is making it worse, they are appauling engineers. lol
