i think if they just survive to be a normal track it would be a victory the way things are looking at the moment...

Aparently the circuit can be 'restored' for a million. Worth every penny to save the track. Nothing else can actually take place there because of the airport so it has to be a track or nothing.
I can see it getting bought by MSV really.

what is the new circuit at silverstone?

some work they're doing on the infield that they think will be done by March and get homologated.. they said it was safer for moto gp or something like that? And they want to use it for F1 obviously- they're calling it the "arena" circuit. And they're making more pit boxes and when all this commotion is over they are gonna move the start/finish line.

saw this on autosport- funny too, I never heard of Autosport until Race Pro and never went on until I started seeing the banner on this site, now I go on like everyday

Is this the new bit of circuit that follows the normal GP track round to Abbey, then comes back up to join the long straight from the Club/National circuit, then back down to rejoin the GP circuit at the BRDC clubhouse?

New points system, thoughts?

Better than the 'most wins' system that they tried to push through earlier in the year. Didn't Bernie say they'd definitely be using it next season though? Eitherway increasing the reward for finishing higher is a much better alternative.

The new points are very Moto GP. Makes sense so long as the Commecial rights holders are willing to fork out more cash as more teams 'should' be scoring points.
Has this actually been confirmed or is it still at proposal stage?

Lotus and Team Ecky Thoomp to announce drivers over the next two days.

There is also a slight change to Chapel which I'm not sure is visible on that map, also the changes to the South Circuit aren't shown which is a shame but the Arena Circuit should be really good.
There's talk the new pit complex will be started in March but certainly the road section will be done by the start of the racing season.

personally I would have seriously reprofiled Maggots to Chapel and turned it back into the left, right, left it used to be, tightening up the old Becketts for an overtaking spot, and get rid off the Abbey chicane, but that would never happen

I used to do alot of track design stuff, I must have an edit of silverstone that i made somewhere..
