Scuderia MARTINI - News Feed
Scuderia MARTINI enter the BGT.
Welcome to the BGT Season 3 sponsored by AG TUNING.
This is the official news feed for Scuderia MARTINI's activities this season.
Scuderia MARTINI's Team Principle and Driver 1, AJzero, had this to say about the deal,
"I am highly excited about partnering with MARTINI for the foreseeable future. MARTINI have a distinct and highly successful history in motorsport, including, Formula 1, Rallying, Le Mans, Touring cars and even powerboats! We intend to carry on their success and our own."
When further asked about his thoughts about the coming season, just 8 days away (at time of writing), his told us this'
"The decision for us to enter the BGT was easy! But choosing the car to race was not! We have spent the last five weeks building and testing many many cars in anticipation of the release of the official car list last week.
I believe that this season will play host to the largest grid ever and is bound to produce some spectacular racing!
We will announce our goals soon but I can tell you now that we will be aiming high!
In other news, we are proud to anounce that culchi has signed a 1 year deal with Scuderia MARTINI!
AJzero has called this signing, "a coup for the team" and boasted that culchi's results speak for themselves.
culchi will be racing with the number 69.
AJzero will be racing with the number 14.
More news soon...

Scuderia MARTINI unveil the SM110b at the Nurburgring.
This morning Scuderia MARTINI showed their hand for the BGT Season 3 sponsored by AG TUNING to a large number to journalists, colleagues and rivals, who had turned up at infamous track after a secret invitation from Apex Motorsport.
Heads turned and cameras flashed as the shutters of the garage were raised and out rolled the team's Porsche 911 Turbo, in an very unorthodox livery! Behind the wheel was team owner and Driver 1, AJzero. He gave time from the LAT photographers to take their snaps and then steamed down the pit lane to give the SM110b its first shake down.
Whilst AJzero tuned the car in to the circuit, 2nd driver culchi answered questions from the onlookers;
Autosport: Um, culchi, whats up with the livery? Black and white is not what we were expecting from Martini and surely you won't get away with that cheeky message!
culchi: (laughs) Yeah, the mechanics came up with that one but it could backfire if we get nailed down the straight by a 'vette or R8! As far as the livery goes, this is our 'testing' livery and will not be used for races, we want to keep our 'official' livery under wraps for as long as possible.
Autosport: Isn't there a deadline for submission?
culchi: Yes there is, and thats when you'll see it!
BBC Sport: This car has been announced as the SM110b, what happened to the SM110a?
culchi: The SM110 was the prototype car for testing and comparing with other possible options (cars) for season three. The SM110b is the final test car. The car we take to the grid on the twelfth of october will be the SM111.
Eurosport News: When will you be driving the car?
culchi: Wether permitting,............tomorrow.
AJzero soon returned to the pits to make some fine adjustments to his setup and then went out again to do a proper run to set a time.
AJzero set a blistering time of 7.22.599, which really has set the bar for the rest of the field. After he had debriefed with the team, he sat down with Autosport to give an exclusive interview;
Autosport: First off, nice lap, was that an official time?
AJzero: Thanks, yeah it was, the car complies with the BGT regulations.
Autosport: Wow, thats going to be hard to beat!
AJzero: I hope so, but if someone does we will have to go again!
Autosport: You love this track don't you.
AJzero: Yep, its got a real flow and I seem to be able to dial myself it easily.
Autosport: Speaking of dialing in, how is the SM110b?
AJzero: Its a real improvement from the first car, which is saying something as the Porsche was good out of the box. Its still not hungry for the curbs but we have got time to refine it for the first race...
Autosport: ...at Silverstone International...
AJzero: ...exactly. I had a solid result in the Peugeot Cup there earlier this month and think we can make the most of the first race nerves that will be uniform throughout the field.
Autosport: Finally, it's great to have the BGT broadcast on digital terrestrial for the first time this season!
AJzero: Absolutely! And exclusively too! Advert free! Thats why we are advertising it on our test car. The BGT produces some really close racing and as many people as possible should get to see it.
Autosport: Thanks for your time, and good luck with testing and of course the coming season.
AJzero: Thank you.

Scuderia MARTINI issue an apology to M&M Racing for the typo in our latest update.
The fastest lap of the session set by AJzero was 7.22.599.
This has been amended and we would like to reassure all concerned that lapse in accuracy will not be repeated.
Scuderia MARTINI would also like to take this opportunity to point out that AJzero's fastest time in this class was set in 2007 and is recorded here;
http://forzamotorsport.net/scoreboards/Forza2/?SBID=1344&
AJzero was not available for comment as he is currently testing the SM110b in the USA, in preparation for the upcoming season of the BGT sponsored by AG Tuning.

Re: Scuderia MARTINI - News Feed
Sebring International Raceway plays host to Scuderia MARTINI.
The Team head stateside to continue testing the SM110b for the rapidly approaching season.
Although the venue has not been officially confirmed for Season 3 of the BGT sponsored by AG Tuning, many insiders believe it is almost a certainty it will appear. AJzero had this to say; " It's a really challenging circuit with a rich history, it would be a waste to not race here this season."
Speaking of that history,
Sebring started life as a United States Army Air Forces training base. From 1941 to 1946, pilots learned to fly the B-17 Flying Fortress. This lineage was commemorated by a special livery on Gunnar Racing's Panoz in the 2002 12 Hours of Sebring resembling a World War II-era B-17.
After the war, aeronautical engineer Alec Ullmann, seeking sites to restore military aircraft for civilian use, saw potential in Hendricks' runways to stage a sports car endurance race, similar to the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Sebring's first race was held on New Year's Eve of 1950. The Sam Collier 6 Hour Memorial race was won by Frits Koster and Ralph Deshon in a Crosley Hot Shot. This first race attracted thirty racecars from across North America.
The first 12 Hours of Sebring was held on March 15th, 1952, and would grow to be a major international race. In 1959, the racetrack hosted the first Formula One United States Grand Prix. Due to the poor attendance and high costs, the next United States Grand Prix was held at Riverside.
For much of Sebring's history, the track followed a 5.2 mile (8.66 km) layout. In 1983, the track was changed to allow simultaneous use of the track and one of the runways. In 1987, more changes allowed use of another runway. Further changes in 1991 accommodated expansion of the airport's facilities, and brought the track close to its current configuration. The entire track could now be used without interfering with normal airport operations. In 1996, the hairpin was removed due to a lack of runoff, and replaced with what became known as the "safety pin". Gendebien Bend was also reprofiled to slow the cars' entry to the Ullman straight.
Scuderia MARTINI were able to hire the track exclusively for the afternoon and following morning, thanks in part to Porsche's involvement with the circuit management.
LEFT, The SM110b enters the pit box. RIGHT, breaking for the "safety Pin".
The testing program included;
New transmission - shakedown, run in and set up.
New differential - final tune.
Brakes - Brembo present with 2 options.
Tries - Final decision to be made.
Other minor test components to be carried out, e.g. Race refueling practice with new Agip rig.
AJzero exits Le Mans, pedal to the metal!
culchi unloads the inside wheels as he prepares for perfect up-shifts down the Ullman Straight.
As the team was packing up, Scuderia MARTINI's drivers sat down with ESPN,
ESPN: First up. Nice to have you guys over here for testing!
AJzero: Its been great being here! The atmosphere in the paddock and the town is always lively and welcoming.
culchi: Seeing as half the season will be spent here, we thought it would be good to raise some awareness for the series and our team...
AJzero: ...you can never have enough fans!
ESPN: (laughs) Absolutely! There seems to be a great buzz around the team.
culchi: Well, we think we have got the bast car, on paper, on the grid. It's now just a case of putting the right parts on it and putting the quickest drivers in it!
AJzero: (laughs) Are you trying to get us replaced culchi? Seriously though its great to have Martini back as a main partner in motorsport and I think many people are excited about that in particular.
ESPN: You only brought one car with you?
AJzero: Yep. We only had a short amount of track time and did not want to complicate things by creating more variables.
culchi: To translate...we're cheap!
AJzero: (laughs) I prefer economic or environmentally conscious!
ESPN: Thanks for your time and running our ad on your bonnet.
AJzero: No Problem!
culchi: Wait till you see our 'official' livery!
ESPN: Looking forward to it!

Following a medium start for the season for culchi (first non last place finish in 3 seasons) Scuderia Martini welcome back team boss AJ to the fold after his recent transfer to a bigger garage left him with a car for the first race.
Rumours are also abound that Scuderia are courting a new driver for the 2nd seat in the team. (Culchi only gets 3rd seat no matter what team he drives in).
More to follow soon
