TORA internationally challenged? Empty TORA internationally challenged?

I was talking to a French friend of mine who wanted to join TORA and he cant mainly because he can't speak alot of english. Also when im bored i look at where the guest are from on the map in the "whos online" part of the forum, and i always notice people from places oher than the english speaking countries, but none of them ever sign-up. I wonder if not having a translator for the site and forum pages are pushing awa all of the none english speakers. We could probably have a little under double the competitors and members if the sites arein other languages as well. I'm sure there are programs that can translate into languages for you. I.e, on some sites, they have the little flags up in the corner, you click on one and it translates into that countries official language. I just thought i would bring this up as i was just pondering about it. Even if we have people who can be translators on the forums or during a race, some people cant speak all of the language or that certain language. Like i can speak some German, English, French, a little Czech, and a little Dutch, but other than that, thats about it. Have you guys ever noticed this. By this i mean mainly English, Irish, Scottish, and Americans usually sign up? I mean there are some that are out of that huge percent of members. Like me(I'm Austrian, but thats anoher story, maybe nightrider can tell you if he remembers), Murcielagoma, and a couple others. But other than that, TORA is mainly an English league.

TORA internationally challenged? Empty Re: TORA internationally challenged?

i think this is less to do with the lack of being able to understand the forums and more about not being able to understand each other during a Race night or on Track due to the language barrier.

I agree its a shame but the way of the world means we cant involve everybody sadly.

We can't have people on track with us who can't understand us as it causes way too many problems on track during a meeting (not understanding Safety cars or overtaking warnings)

That and the fact the rules are complicated enough in English! lol

But hey im not a Staff member or anyone with any real power but i just figured you deserved an anwser.... even if not an official one...
