Y'know what, I hope they do it. Every car on the grid is welcome in the current climate.

Would love to know what car they're planning on doing it with though, the car Eaves and Shedden ran is the one Special Tuning bought and Glew ran at Sliverstone with the NGTC engine, and IIRC Jones owned the car he drove, which I imagine was sold on abroad.

It would also appear James Kaye is returning to the series in an Integra, which I think must be John George's old car (the Techspeed one he is in now is owned by the team). Good to see the old faces returning.

See that Mike Earle, Arena/Team Aon boss, has said in Autosport they plan on reverting to the petrol engine for next year. Mountune are building an NGTC engine for them to run.

The reason for this is apparently to get rid of all the issues with the alternative fuels that have been caused this year, but to me (and others) it would seem that they are courting a works deal with Ford. In the interview, he said that it was also due to Ford having only petrol engines in their range, and bringing them more in line with that.

The Stig will be competing at the BTCC Finale in a third Airwaves BMW.....!

just watched second race:) what a great race from Plato.Without a doubt the best driver in the field.Even with 45kg's of ballast he was still super quick.

Plato+ Chevy = Championship title.


i also when they interviewed him thought it was great when he said "its not done ive still got race three to win" now thats a racer

When I read this from the BTCC website:

I thought the following: It won't stop Jason Plato beating Tiff on Fifth Gear.

Very happy with Plato winning the title, was gutted for Shedden having a broken driveshaft in race two, but Plato is a worthy champion.

Well done to Plato, good to see him win over Matt Neal. Gutted for Shedden but it proves he is a very good driver, same with Onslow-Cole. It's a pity that the final 3 races were boring to watch...
