people were asking me if something was wrong, thats how poor i was doing...the TVR was abominable.

i had crisis behind me after qualifying while we were doing the cool down laps after the 10 minutes was up...so he got to see how bad the car was first hand.

Now I was actually thinking of coming in here and saying the TVR is fine because it was just quicker than my Porsche, but realised that was before the Porsches PI boost. Maybe at some point you could throw me your TVR tune and Ill have a go to back up that view?

Now in terms of qualifying for GT3 or any series for that matter, I like it with collisions on as it produces that little extra trickiness to navigate traffic as well as qualifying, like in real life. All about the strategy. If your worried about uncertified laps, make sure your out lap is also uncertified in case your catch/get caught up every lap you have.

I learned this lesson the hard way after qualifying for Round 1 of the TCM at New York. Now I always make sure that I physically pull onto the grass off the start line before making my run.

The Porsche is definately slower off the mark than the TVR (just ask scooby), but I don't think the top speeds are that different...it is planted through the corners though.
In all honesty I think the BMW's needs looking at before anything else. That said I'm not sure what can be done with them as they easily had about 25mph over my TVR on the start/finish straight.

I like how biggs says it adds realism to qualy, which to a certain extent it does, bt like Chillz said I find myself intentionally puttina wheel or 2 onto the grass just to uncertify my time. Never seen that in real racing Razz

I have 'made a mistake' quite a few times in quali when im on a slower clean lap because why should you give up your quick lap when its not your fault you've got penalty? I do think this needs to be looked in to as this is wrecking peoples qualifying therefore messing up their races.

Yeah I liked quali with collisions on from the LMS on FM2. But now it encourages people to only run uncertified laps and I'm sure you can imagine how easy it is to work that to an unfair advantage round Road Atalanta and Catalunya.

That's where honesty and integrity come in. You will see all my qually times are certified, as I believe your fastest lap should be certified. The downside is that you get penalised for drafting or being drafted. That is where the smaller qualifying lobbies are helping A LOT!!! Well done to the organisers there. I do not mind people getting a fast time drafting as long as they aren't intentionally cutting corners to submit a fast time.

Its not people having an uncertified lap because its faster, its because a faster lap wont count against a slower clean one wether its dirty because of you or someone else, and so the only way around this is to make sure you NEVER make that slower clean lap.

I had it happen to me at TCM Maple Valley and it cost me 0.800 on my qualy because i was drafted by someone else.

I missed the race meeting but have run a bunch of practice and tuning on my BMW trying to get Mugello figured out. It does have the top end but the handling a tricky to get set up just right. Bummed to have missed it though as I was pretty happy with my tune. I was only running 1:54s and 1:55s in practice but that was pretty good for me. I think I still need to work on the lines I'm taking.
