Mine would have to be the 2001 or 2002 Moto GP season when Rossi crashed in practice. Had a Concussion and a broken thumb on the throttle hand. Came back to qualify on pole and win the race with both of of those effecting his perfromance... or not effecting his performance for that matter.

Re: What is your greatest memory of the once great Donington Park.
I have a few actually.
Went there for the first time in 2000 to see the BSB season finale. Was a fantastic weekend and got parked up on the exit of Goddards inside the track which was awesome.
Of course BTCC 1998, with 'Our Nige' returning and the immense racing that ensued will go down in BTCC history a some of the best racing ever.
Senna's amazing drive in 1993, Mat Neal's first overall win in 1999.

Re: What is your greatest memory of the once great Donington Park.
mine is actually doing a 20 min session there myself in my own Saxo VTS
the craner curves are a lot scarier when your driving them yourself, the car just wants to runaway from you as its all down hill.
Definitely was the best track ive been on

Re: What is your greatest memory of the once great Donington Park.
the owners wanted to bring F1 there but they couldnt and so they just stoped all work and now it is the way it is, and as far as we know it's going to be left the way it is to become one of those "once so great race tracks" now its unfortunatly going to just be a lacation for weeds to grow

kinda like Rockingham, NC has become to the nascar sched? i used to like that track. id rather see a race date go back there than the boring Pocono race(s)

i guess the better example is the Riverside, CA road course, which is now housing. alot of the nascar drivers enjoyed that track...

Re: What is your greatest memory of the once great Donington Park.
A circuit thats been going strong since the 1930's, the oldest track in the UK, its such a shock, and a shame to see Bernie and the gang lay waste to this awsome circuit. He has millions of pounds? Could he not pay back some money for them to repair the track? Thats the least he could do IMO.
