Formula Drift USA 2010 - Discussion and Live Streams

Formula Drift USA Will be kicking off this weekend on the Streets of Longbeach.

For the first time the event will be streamed LIVE on the internet with live stream Embeds available (like youtube's Video embeds but LIVE)

I will try and post these up here so that people can watch the events live through out the season.

Round 2: Road Atlanta: 7-8 May 2010

Round 3: Wall Speedway: 4-5 June 2010

Round 4: Evergreen Speedway: 9-10 June 2010

Round 5: Las Vegas: 20-21 August 2010

Round 6: Infinion Raceway: 10-11 September 2010

Round 7: Toyota Speedway Irwindale: 8-9 October 2010

Here's the first Stream..... Qualifying should start around 9am GMT..... (12 noon local time to Longbeach)

I might just go to the race at Evergreen, that is only 2 hours away from me. Irwindale is a sick track also, I used to go there when I lived in San Diego.

I wish i could go but being British its a bit far! lol

This is the Premier of drifting as far as im concerned (Yes D1 Japan was first but Formula Drift has more Variety in cars and alot more money in it)

Ive literally just learned that the new "Team Need For Speed" Will Debut at Longbeach this weekend. This consists of Matt Powers and Mad Mike Whiddett Who will both be campaigning the entire season for the first time.

Yeh but Aero dynamics and downforce are still important...

The challenger will get done at some point, as will the Supra as im trying to work through most of the 2010 cars.

The challenger will probably get done first as it looks kinda similar to the MOPAR one which never competed which i have paint for, but as the only picture ive ever seen of it it may take a while....

As for the Supra.... i'll give it a go but again, souce pictures are a pain.

However i have just finished and released the Matt Powers Nissan S14 which will Debut this Friday.

In other (non-self promoting) news, there is now a Facebook Aplication to get the live streams through there. i'll post a link to it when i can find it but you can find it from the Formula Drift USA Website.

Im still having problems finding out when the Event actually starts.

Apparently the stream will start at 2:30pst which from what i can work out is around 9:30pm GMT

(however i am not sure of this, luckily the stream has a feature where it will notify you by Email when it is about to go live, however i cant remember how i got it to do it so i will post up here when the stream says it is about to go live.)

If anyone has any more reliable information please let us know.

OK Apparently it starts at 8pm GMT.... But dont hold me to that. The stream is currently showing the practice while they test some things out, dont worry about the quality or lack of angles... these will improve once the event gets going properly. (at 8pm GMT apparently)

All the big guns are out now! All the commentator seems to be doing is listing the sponsors...
