Regulations have now been published.
N.B. this thread is for clarification, i.e. post here if you do not understand an article, not if you don't like an article.

Re: Regulation Clarification
Ok, we need clarification on this. In both teh V8 rule book and TASCAR rule book the basic rule son numberboxes has been copied and pasted from other rule books. What is the official word on the numbers situation in this championship and the TASCAR? It would ruin the feel of the championships having silly little numberboxes on the cars. In the V8s I have seen many people take the idea I put forward and put their numbers on the Banners and behind teh rear window. We should make that the location to place them. In the TASCAr we have already talked about having proper NASCAR style numbers.
So, to make sure my car and many other cars pass scruitneering what are we doing about this?

Re: Regulation Clarification
Yep, we could do with some specific rules, glad someone rather than me pointed this out.

Re: Regulation Clarification
V8: Window banner as per Richy design. Number to be placed on that and also on C Piller. (where it would normally be on the window).
TASCAR: Window banner, Ear on the Oval logo and TASCAR logo manditory. Numbers free but must be in spirit of NASCAR.

Re: Regulation Clarification
Its hard to place the number by the rear window on the holden as it goes out of shape
Re: Regulation Clarification
Jamie: Aslong as the number is on the side of the car in a visible area in the spirit of the series I think that's ok. The main reason for specifying that area is because obviously the numbers appear on the windows in real life. Perhaps the alternative location could be front doors just under the wing mirrors?
Richy sorry yes I did forget that....
Just to reconfirm:
1 - V8 Challange badge
2 - Ford/Holden + TORA window banners
3 - Number on side of car located in spirit of the real series.

Re: Regulation Clarification
....I've run mine stock atm to be honest with you and Chris and I had a ball!
I'd go 719.
I'd go 719.
Re: Regulation Clarification
Yeah this is something I was gonna bring up. Do we have to make the cars exactly 720 or is it up to 720 maximum. I was always under the impression that as long as the car didn't exceed 720 it was fine. I can't put race brakes on the Ford without puttin heavy wheels on it which makes it 718.
Re: Regulation Clarification
Richy i've got mine to 720 with race brakes so if anyone wants the build for 720 for the Ford drop me a xbl message

Re: Regulation Clarification
Yeah nick I can get mines to 720 but its running 20" rims on it and they just look ridiculous. If its up to 720 then its all good.
Re: Regulation Clarification
When is the closing date for this? is it today Monday 12th July? As the PDF says Saturday 12th July? just want to see if the entry list comes out tomorrow or not

Re: Regulation Clarification
I am not happy, and I know that one of my team will be that unhappy with using the Holden that he won't be taking part in the championship.
Re: Regulation Clarification
Did you not ask for the Holden then?

Re: Regulation Clarification
I think it is more that they are die-hard Ford fans, particularly Ian. Given the history, I think that's like saying we know you fancy the pants off Angelina Jolie, but instead you can have Jennifer Aniston. Not a bad thing, but if you are Team Jolie, you're gonna be disappointed.

Re: Regulation Clarification

Re: Regulation Clarification
To be honest. It's tough luck!
They had the Holden as there second choice. That's what they got.
The Ford allocation was obviously full, so they have to settle for the Holden. Unlucky, but that's the rules.
Now, I can say this because I am in the same boat. We have only tested the Ford and painted the Ford because that's what we thought we would be getting, but we have also got the Holden, so we have a shed load of work to do to get ready for Tuesday, especially with 2.4 qually on Thursday, race on Sunday and SuperGT on Monday (which we have just submitted a new car for, due to very late PI changes to our second choice car.)
So, good luck with your testing. I maybe able to help you out with a tune if I get one sorted in time.

Re: Regulation Clarification
Yeah it la pretty much what scot said, we're Ford fans. If you went over to Austrailia and said that the Fords and Holdens were just the same the you would be killed. We don't plan on goin that far but we would like our fords back
If we HAVE to run in the Holden can we run at PI 718 or 719 so that we don't have to fit stupidly big wheels to the cars. This goes for all Holdens, or can we just say it has to be up to 720, not bang on.
And tbh Chillz we never put the Holden as out second choice, we went Ford Ford

Re: Regulation Clarification
Also, how who do you build the Holden to 720 PI???
Can we run it at 718 please?
We gain no advantage by running lower.
