Indy Car race right in my hometown in 2011!!!

My state is REALLY behind this, hopefully my local politicians and the IRL live up to the hype, The track sure looks cool. goes right by our harbor, and our stadiums. All I can say is i hope they organize some sort of karting, I want to race on the streets of my hometown.

Heres a pic of the layout, zoom in to get a good view. They're expecting speeds of 195 mph at the end of the straight, probably more with the new engine rules

sorry, the main straight, the one labeled "west pratt street" and probably russel street but im not sure with that hairpin

right on and is there any elevation changes in that area, i would think not seeing how its right by water but Chicago did surprise me when i was there.

hope you dont ahve the same problem as DC when it had the ALMS race


basically poor people complained about how loud it was.

Theres a little bit of an elevation change around the russel street hairpin, but other than that its pretty flat,

And travis, the race is pretty much through the commercial district, theres no real houses, just a couple hotels and pubs which should have an increase in business so hopefully no complaints. the city has also committed the streets for 5 years worth of racing so we'll see how that goes.

i sense mass repaving of that area after the first year from it being "More bumpy than we expected"

theyre actually in the process of figuring out when they lay down new asphalt, especially with out schizophrenic winters, our streets are beat up enough already.
